More fake news.

All Florida lawns look like this:

Then after it's mowed:
Yeah it's mostly crab grass or sawgrass.

Burning bath salt factories and shit from invasive species destroyed all our grass in the 80s.

During the drought, maybe. But we haven’t been in a drought in awhile so the grass grows as soon as it is mowed.
During the rainy season I have to mow twice a week! And I don’t give the grass any extra water, it’s all from the rain.

In all fairness the other half of the yard looks like one of those pics; lots of crabgrass and sand but it’s the side that is mostly covered by trees so it doesn’t get very much water or sun.

It's crazy to me, as someone who lives where there's never been a hurricane in history, how normal they are to Floridians in partcular. It must suck for this to be a seasonal threat/disruption/potential devastation. Climate Change is only going to make it worse too.

Then again, we've copped this bizarre shit called Thuderstorm Asthma multiple times. That's where a storm kills you not by ripping your roof off, but by giving you an asthma attack. It killed more than 10 people last time and hospitalized 10,000. At least with this slow moving Dorian fucker, there's plenty of warning I guess.

For those of you anywhere near this storm, stay safe.

I’m just now trying to get caught up in here with all the vids posted, but is it the Bahamas getting the worst of it so far?

It plowed right into them, with the eye going right across Grand Bahama.

It is down to a cat 4, in about 30 minute there will be another update.

Bahamas is the only one that's gotten anything so far.

But they've gotten the full force of it. 185 mph at the highest point (they've since weakened a little) and 23 foot storm surge

Damn, for an archipelago like the Bahamas, a 23 foot surge seems pretty significant. That must have inundated a huge portion of the islands.

Last I read, Grand Bahama was getting hit by a virtual standstill Cat 5 for 6-10 hours straight. Now that's some serious shit right there...
