Alpine and Pioneer were always my top choices for car audio when I worked at Best Buy. That’s a good one.

Pioneer doesn’t have anything that’s back up camera ready at that good of a price, though.

I put this in my Tacoma and my wife's jeep and honestly couldn't stand it.

KW-M845BW|Multimedia|JVC USA - Products -

Delay on the touchscreen, BT connection could be spotty and freeze up, clock would gain 10:00 in a month's time and I just didn't look good in use. The best part of it was the Android Auto. Once I plugged it into my phone it was great but I wouldn't recommend this deck to anyone.

Yup. High end touch screen head units are not worth. I'd get this and install an amp, small 10 inch woofer, GPS and backup camera.

I'm so behind on car AV.
I have an old dvd/video game ceiling mount in the truck that never gets used.
Nowadays it seems the more you have in there, the more trouble you can get into.
I remember freedom, it was fun.
Then all the chicks had to go and get into accidents texting & driving.

So maybe an Alpine pullout with Pioneer 9-band EQ, audio control crossovers, Altec Lansing tweets, JL Audio 5 1/2 mids & Rockford R series 12's in isoberic chambers & Phoenix gold dual 600 amps.
Should slam ridin' on triple gold D's.

You can still rig the dvd/gaming up with new stuff. My dad had it going until his head unit broke. He replaced it with something else because he was so pissed.

Lol at the pullout. Used to feel like a boss walking the mall carrying my faceplate around constantly checking my Viper alarm keychain just waiting for someone to get too close to my 5.0.

I often bounce back and forth between Pioneer and Kenwood. The last two i put in are Pioneer. I like their EQ’s. But I’m going go with Kenwood next. Seems like they are a little more user friendly as far as adding your custom wallpaper and such.

Dont get that. Not true android auto. requires a dongle according to the comments.
It's built on Android. You can link your phone to it via Bluetooth, and if you're so inclined, can flash custom firmware and customize to your exact specifications. Best head unit I ever used

How old is your car that it doesn't have a backup camera?
05 Legacy wagon. My 06 didn't come with one either. Think that started in 08 integrated into tailgate handle. Not the best location if you got a mountain bike pad.

I wouldn't mind if my truck had one. Never had any use for them on a car though.

My 2012 doesn't have it. They weren't required in the US until 2018 and didn't get rapidly rolled out until that was announced in 2014.

High waistlines and higher hoods and nose requirements for side impact and pedestrian safety regs even make cars have huge blind spots now. We created the problem so that a car now has the same rear blind spot that small SUVs had in the 90's...that everyone panicked about after parents were running over their kids.

Trust me, you can see over and around them just fine. Drivers just continue to get fucking lazier but governments are more than happy to boil the frog.

What an appalling law.
As a result of the above. We created blind spots then had to fix the danger.

Only thing worse is the requirement for TPMS sensors with no quality control so you have mandated a buggy worthless variable.

But that's our NHTSA. They still have us in the dark ages on low and high beams when auto adjusting beams exist. But we can't have them because the law says low and high.

I prefer to always have my canopy on so the camera was a nice investment. I wouldn't say I need one for the car but it's not much more to add on in the process.

I was looking at JDM vehicles during my search. Seems some people will have a forward facing camera under the mirror on the left side to help see while making left hand turns.

Here's the thing. Those blind spots are largely imagined, and the amount of pedestrians killed by cars is, well, it's just not that many.

Makes sense because as the driver you're on the opposite side than the road system was set up for. Being a passenger in one of those cars is trippy shit.
