Ok, so I don't have many pictures or anything because I mainly hate taking pictures and I was too busy popping edibles, talking to cool people, and selling items, so I apologize about that, but I do have a bunch of dope stories and observations to share.

Ok, first off, the people of the town and the people that are friends of the town are very tight knit and are the most open, friendly, and clear headed people I have encountered! They would talk to you just as if youd been living there for years and were not guarded at all. They also werent clingy and attention seeking, they were simply genuine.

I, and the makeshift tribe I was a part of by the end, stayed in town til monday, and after everyone else had gone home we had residents come over and invite us to move our camp over into town and they gave us free beer and made us spaghetti

I actually didn't go into the inn and share in the festivities because I had actually been selling things without a permit and on the last day when things were kind of winding down, a lady that owns ground in the area but doesnt actually live there came and made a fuss, saying she was going to call the police and things (the cops didnt give a damn about any of that, they said they didnt even care about drunk driving this weekend), but I still complied so as to keep good relations and ended up with a contact and a friend out of it because I wasnt an asshole about it and she appreciated my honesty.

But because of that, I didnt know if some of the residents were angry or miffed, and I kept my distance a bit, also not wanting to be those people that never leave, although they were all very welcoming and friendly. It actually turned into a miscalculation because I heard from a person in my group that hung with them that they were actually kind of salty that I hadnt come and joined in. I was surprised.

There was a man that was there promoting his book on full disclosure and he had said that overnight, his book had turned into an amazon best seller in its category.

There was also a very, very strange phenomenon of people referencing how many dopplegangers there were there, how everything seemed familiar, or how it was like how they had already known everyone that they had become friends with while there. Everyone there had a very weird communal sense that there was something weird in the air that couldnt be placed.

I became friends with a girl that I had somehow recognized her online username on a meme website I go to and she just happened to mention it for some reason and her name had just happened to catch my eye a couple weeks ago (which is completely a-typical for me, I'm not very familiar with the internet actually).

What are the Fuckin odds of that? There were so many people that expressed similar things happening that it was like an odd undercurrent of some sort was permeating the whole area.

I learned that Disney tried to buy the Little A'le'inn from Connie (the owner) for a couple mil a few years ago and she turned them down.

Also, I learned that the stage they used for the event was one that a guy just happened to be building because he wanted to do a concert in a field and then he heard that this shit was going on, he offered it up and they desperately had needed it.

The "Little A'le'inn" was named that by an error at the printng press. It was supposed to be named the "Little Ale'inn" and you can see evidence of that on their sign. Its painted 2 tones instead of three.

At least you're a considerate weirdo ;)

Naw, I'm definitely way weird haha. Yeah, it was pretty damned sweet, everyone there was awesome.

Another cool thing was how clean it was! There were ample people to make messes and eff the town up, but the residents said that the guys anf doing trash rounds didnt even have trash to pick up because everyone was cleaning up after themselves so well. People were saying the motto was, "Leave No Trace; like our alien homies".

How strange! I assumed there would be a mass clean up mode after. Both that I thought about it at the time but thinking now...yeah.
So. What was the toilet situation?

They had a huge quantity of porta potties that paid camping or free (BLM) camping people could both use. Many people brought methods for disposal because, until we got there, we had no idea what thre conditions were going to be like.

There is so much room in front of the town of Rachel for people to camp for free due to it being federal/public land that it is actually possible that that many people could fit there if it became a mega festival.

I'm the sort of person who pays for hotels if I go to metal festivals purely because of sanitation but a UFO hunter friend keeps bedgering me to go and camp so we can hunt them down.

I understand this was a different escapade but had I not had a prior engagement on Friday morning I would have taken the drive.

Is it likely to turn into an every year thing? I imagine the town has done well financially so it would be within their interests if no one caused any trouble and didn't leave a mass clear up job after everyone left.

Yes, if this doesnt turn into a yearly thing I'll be flabbergasted. The town was making plans for next year before the event was over, everyone that was leaving was honking, waving, and yelling, "See you next year" as they drove off. There are a lot of people doing ground work to make next year happen and its a ton of attendees. And them talking about all the ways they can make it happen better next year and the year after that.

I heard a few people say that burning man is dead and that they had been there this year and they had a better time at this tiny ass gathering than with all the tech moguls out in the desert. I think this fest could actually fill a cultural void for a large, free lodging gathering. I probably sound dumb as fuck, but I'm serious.

No, you don't.
Okay. If I'm still on the west coast next year I'll see you there. I'm well up for going.
The pro fighter tag leads me to believe if anyone tries to wee on my tent you'll tell them off.
