Been considering it for a while. Emailed a place in Feb but life got in the way. Now with most shit out of the way I emailed them again with a view to having it done in September.

I've never wanted children of my own. I remember being 16-17 saying I didn't want kids and everyone said in 15-20 years I'd want a family. Well, I'm about 5 months off turning 35 and still don't want em. I told my soon-to-be-wife from the start and while it was originally a hard pill for her to swallow, she seems to have come around.

For me now, it's more a matter of when. I'd need to take a few days off work so might wait til as close to the Christmas break as possible.

If anyone has any words of advice, please send them over!

Do your thiing butttttttt...

That's not usually a negotiable piece in most relationships. Be very very careful or I see regret and resentment in your future. Just make sure yall are on the same page for this relationship.

I agree with Splinty @Splinty

Is this a decision that could, in any way, be fair to your spouse? Does she have her heart set on having kids?
It sounds like this isnt a mutual decision, and shes simply just satisfying your feelings. Sounds like a recipe for future resentment.

You can always make a deposit before you get it done. Just in case.
Also, they can be reversed although it's not a sure thing.

We met via Tinder, and chatted on WhatsApp for two weeks before meeting in person. Even then I spelt out that I didn't want children because I know at our age (she was 28 when we met) that's a serious issue and I wanted to let her know straight away.

She wanted kids at the start and yes, I think deep down she wouldn't ideally like them still. However, shes known my stance since day 1 and also knows that this is the one issue I will not budge on.

You do you I fully support that. Dont be surprised if she eventually feels held hostage by your decisions. Might be mutual right now, but that damned biological clock is a bugger!

Either way, good luck.

I got my vasectomy a year and a half ago. I have two healthy kids ages 8 and 10 and don't want anymore. My wife has a mating kink and likes to be treated like a cum dumpster so it was an easy decision. My recovery was horrible though. Nothing that they prepare you for. I didn't have any excessive swelling or discolouration but I had to go back to ER four times in two weeks, last visit spent the night. The second day after operation it felt like I had been hit in the crotch with a hammer. You know that feeling of nausea, sweats and light headedness you get from a kick to the groin? I had that constantly reoccurring what seemed to be with every exhale. I'd go to the hospital and they'd give me an IV with gravol and morphine, shortly after I was back to normal. The following day all good, day after that it starts all over again. The Dr who snipped me came in on my last visit and couldn't give any answers. I gave blood and urine multiple times, ultrasound and some other things but nobody could say what the problem was. After two weeks it just stopped and I've been good ever since.

Would recommend. Good luck.
