Eh, I mean if you rounded up everybody who ever disingenuously offered condolences and praise when somebody they didn't like died, there wouldn't be many people left on the streets. It's a just stupid social norm, but it is one nonetheless.
Correlation and causation - look up the difference (not just you, but all the dipshit reporters should too). China's economic growth was always going to decline. There's little doubt that tariffs are having some impact, but mainly slowing growth is based on a structural trend as China transitions to a middle-income service economy. You can't keep up the same level of GDP growth the more advanced your economy becomes.
Also, how the fuck does slowing Chinese growth help you? America's growth is slowing too - and that 'slow 'Chinese growth is 3 times America's growth. Trump could just nuke the entire world and kill everyone. That would slow China down even more.
What was the other option? Do we let them run roughshod over everyone else? Thats why there are checks and balances. Tariffs help to level the playing field. Notice that I didn't say that it was the only option. And I didn't say Trump is strategically wrong to put tariffs on them. But the point of the tariffs is to either change Chinese behavior and force them to submit to a favorable US deal or to begin a new Cold War that will stifle China's rise. Either way, the tariffs have done nothing to achieve those goals so far. Maybe they will work, but slowing Chinese GDP growth - unless it's dramatic, which it isn't - isn't any measure of success.
The media collectively can't tell the difference between causation and correlation and they falsely put out this narrative. The fact is, while the consensus is that the tariffs are hurting growth in both the US and China, we have no way of directly quantifying it.

Agree to disagree but more importantly it’s refreshing to have an adult discussion that doesn't delve into degrading terms and rhetoric that require less than a GED to formulate.
You can't disagree with facts, mate. The tariffs have not yet delivered an agreement and we can't effectively measure their overall impact on the US or Chinese economies. We therefore have no basis whatsoever to judge the 'success' of the tariffs yet - we will have to wait to see what they actually achieve. Those are not opinions; those are facts.
