Tyson’s style was perfectly suited for mma. His low stance, speed, ferocity and ridiculous uppercut power would have transferred very well into the cage.
wrestle-boxing is also the style of many guys who won titles or were contenders.

I'll take the version of Tyson that sat down against Mc Bride against any version of Chuck in a street fight.

I am a Chuck fan and don't rate Tyson as highly as some, as far as boxings all time greats.

But there is no question in my mind.

They're not even in the same fuckin stratosphere as far as athletic ability, let alone technique in a striking match up.

Defensively speaking Chuck was shit and relied heavily on his chin, even in his prime he earned his reputation as a knock out artist against primarily grapplers.

Everybody he fought landed on him.

His chin is shot for a reason.

There is no fucking way he doesn't get put to sleep if he tries to trade punches with Tyson.

I always pick the grappler vs the striker in an MMA match up, but in this case it makes no sense.

Tyson is one of the hardest punchers in boxing history, an offensive master, against guy with shit boxing defence and medicore wrestling.

Chuck has lost his mind, but we knew that already.

Prime tyson with 2 years of take down D equals Crocopish.
Prime Tyson = Prime James Toney when it comes to a street fight with a pro MMA fighter.

Tyson was an incredible boxer, but his short/tight style would get him ankle-picked from the next county over.

depending on the scenario, one factor in the 'boxer vs. MMA fighter in a street fight' scenario is the question of whether the combatants know anything about each others' skills.

An MMA fighter might assume since he's trained standup for years that he'd obviously have the advantage throwing hands with some random guy at a bar, so why bother resorting to clinching, grappling, etc.

If the opponent happens to be a boxer, then the MMA fighter gives up his advantage, at least initially.

This shouldnt be suprising. Boxing is such a specialised and limited sport that most mma fighters, kickboxers, and even wrestlers would have killed tyson in a fight.

Little Royce, who wasnt a particularly good grappler by any means, showed in UFC 1 how out of their depth boxers are when their opponents can grapple. And many times boxers have tried their hand in kickboxing matches... it never turns out well for them.

Hahahaha nice joke bud
.

Unless you actually believe this dribble.

Prime Tyson beats any version of Royce . Or any version of Chuck liddel in a street fight. Hell He'll probably an mma fight as well. The difference in athleticism is too big. You have no idea .

Hahaha what a joke

Tyson in a street fight with no rules would have been an animal.

Even if Chuck goes full Ben Askren, he still needs to close the distance to grapple.

Even at that, when did we see Chuck ankle pick anybody in MMA?

Liddel was a sprawl and brawler, not a wrestler, he isn't Randy Couture and Mike Tyson isn't fat Toney in this scenario.

We know how Chuck fights, Tyson would demolish him before he knew what the fuck was happening.

Chuck wrestled at the Div 1 level. The only scenario where he doesn't take down Tyson is where he doesn't know who Tyson is...

and Chuck was a pro kickboxer. One leg kick and Tyson is on the ground getting head stomped.
