he is not wrong. jorge is a tough motherfucker. so is nate. both are journeymen . lots of tough motherfuckers are journeymen like matt brown or cowboy cerrone, guy who stand and band win some and lose some. they dont exactly play it safe or coast . if you look at jorges record he is 6-4 in his last 10 and most of the guys he fought are jorneymen themselves . guys like ellenburger, larkin, ross pearson, diaz. there is nothing wrong with being a journeyman . it is what it is. pretty much every fighter who isnt a top 5 contender or former champ ends up playing a journeyman role . there are 500 plus guys only 100 of them are top contenders .everyone else falls into jorneyman, gatekeeper, prospect or cannon fodder. jorge has done well to take a journeyman career and turn it around to make some cash at the end . he now is in line for some big fights. he still is going to get wrestlefucked by the top 3 guys in his division

Not saying you are incorrect, but I might be off on my own interpretation of the term "journeyman".

I have always considered it a person who just gets fights where he can, often moving from promotion to promotion just trying to keep his career going. I didn't think it applied to people who have established themselves in the premier promotion routinely fighting top ten or top fifteen guys. Like I said, we just have different definitions, which I think is probably common with terms like this.

Every fighter, no matter how good they are in their prime are eventually “journeymen.”

Most professional fighters never even get to that point; some peak at that point; the rare few are lucky enough to go beyond that and later fall to that point. Many legends and all-time greats become journeyman. That is nothing to be ashamed about. The fact is that while Masvidal and Nate are incredible fighters and fan favorites, neither was ever the “best” in any division they every fought in. If fans can’t admit that, they aren’t in touch with reality.

Masvidal is no journeyman (journeyman in mma is a guy who is just traveling to get fights and collect a paycheck, if he wins he wins...if he loses he loses...no biggie as long as he gets paid.) Masvidal has traveled and competed in many organization but he has continued to rise the ranks - continued to get better - continued to grow.

Masvidal said if he doesn’t get a title shot he wants a money fight ...ufc gave him a money fight with Nate and made it fun creating the BMF Title ...a special title just for that fight just to make things fun.

What we are seeing from Masvidal is all his hard work and dedication to MMA coming full circle ...you reap what you sow ...and Masvidal is reaping the rewards from his years of hard work!

Strange to see other fighters and fans give him shit ...lot of jealous motherfuckas out there.

Journeyman have no intention of improving or rising the ranks.

Masvidal keeps improving ...keeps rising the ranks and keeps making more then the average journeyman

He has only really made money in his last few fights

He literally came from the backyard fight scene in Florida and has had to work his way up to get where he is today ...

Quick look at Jorge losses...

Early in his career he was 5-0 before fighting in an event called Full Throttle and losing to some guy *sarcasm* named Rafael Assuncao (at the time was known as a submission great) who also was red hot at that time ..he gave Jorge his first legit loss....Jorge next fight was against a guy who made a home in th UFC named Joe Lauzon ....Jorge smoked dat ass!

His next 2 losses came to Rodrigo Damm who everyone thought was the next big thing n the verge to singing with the ufc or Pride and take the belt.

Jorge then lost to one of the greatest submissions in MMA history to Toby Imada ...after that it’s been decision city ....

Jorge has come a long way, always scratching and clawing to get recognition ...finally Karma has kicked in and he is getting what is his!!

I was training with Steve Berger when Jorge beat him in Bodog. I’ve been interested in his career ever since.
