I have been with my current employer for 20 years. That’s the longest relationship I have ever had, but it’s time to move on. I’m topped out on the pay scale so I’m making a cash run. I’m actually going to take a big pay cut the first year, but after the first year, my pay will be a bit more than I’m making now, and after that, it goes up quite a lot. I’m going from being a big fish in a little pond to a small fish in a lake. I start in the beginning of January. Now I have to learn what all these buttons do.

Changing your type rating, eh? FWIW I've heard it's much harder to go in the opposite direction than what you're doing.

An A330 FO told me that an Airbus is basically a laptop with wings

How often do you have to land a plane for unruly passengers? Any crazy stories?
I know you're looking for support, but flipping out on an Air Canada flight attendant and getting arrested after a forced landing in Montreal, all because they were "out of caffeine free Diet Pepsi", is not normal.

Not even close.
