You know what's really gotten old for me is each side blaming the other. Even in the forestry thing I posted above the opening sentence makes me numb to the rest of what is being addressed and what is being addressed directly effects me.
How much is spent on campaigns and all they do is advertise how shitty the other side is? I dont need to hear how I am being fucked or how shitty the person fucking is tell me how your going to fix it.
Bring something to the conversation, leave name calling and the bullshit attacks out of it bring resolution. Your not the only guilty party I get that but help us help you but I guess that's how its suppose to work keep the people arguing about red vs blue as if it matters.

Also Don's gripe was with people not wearing the poppy so it wasn't directed towards Mr Singh. Him and everyone else who decided to post photos of their family members in uniform were just doing the "don't forget about me" thing on twitter.
Yeah, bus drivers should definitely make the same money as doctors. Doesn't seem wasteful on part of the municipality at all.

Its not that tough a call. Things will get cheaper if unions stop demanding higher wages but we all know those dues are all that unions care about.

It's actually basic supply and demand economics. If the cost of goods escalates beyond what people have the companies will go out of business entirely. Driving up wages just perpetuates the cycle.
You know most of the public doesn't have guaranteed wages at set amounts, right?

Everytime unions get brought up everyone immediately jumps to wages. Unions are the reason we have weekends, holidays, vacation, sick days etc. Imagine we didnt have unions where would we be? Would our goverment regulate these companies?
Yes.... unions have become a business, do I agree... No. I am a USW member and even though I am pro union I do see flaws with them. The entire system needs changing on both sides, I don't even know where to began but the solution is to remove greed.
Its obvious that you're pro-union because you're asking questions that are addressed in posts your quoting. I'm not trying to be a dick but it's obvious you're only willing to sit on one side of the fence. I spent years in a large union and saw exactly how they treat workers, like a commodity. They have no issue with sacrificing what's best for the worker in favour of what's best for the union.

Oh man I see that. This is my first strike with the USW but I have been with the Teamsters before.
I dont know, it comes down to who do I trust more and I'd have to say I trust the union over the company(ies). If only the trickle down effect really worked then I guess we could do without unions.
I'm experiencing those things you've probably experienced, our board members recently within the last contract made changes that were unable to vote them out which I think isnt right. I'd also like their salaries to be made to union members and I would hope that it would be within our own salaries.
We just need change man, that's all I'm really hoping for. I want to leave something for my kids the way my old man left something for me and I shouldnt have to kill myself to do it.
