Down play it all you want and run around like chicken little screaming the sky is falling.. yet BC under the NDP govt will continue to have the lowest unemployment rates in Canada... lowest unemployment rates in your life time.
1) BC doesn't currently have the lower unemployment rates.
2) As I tell you every month when you trot out this nonsense stat. Unemployment rates aren't the be all, end all indicator of economic strength as they're easily manupulated.
3) Since when is BC run by the NDP? I remember someone telling us all that it was a coalition government where people who voted for a party weren't going to be sold up the river in a power grab.

1) Lower unemployment rates than the vast majority of Canada
2) The unemployment rates might be easily manipulated but that is done so across Canada based off the same standards and practices. The unemployment rates might not be an accurate portrayal of economic strength but when all other provinces and territories are judged based off the same standards and policies, BC has constantly came out on top for the last year.
3) No one who voted for NDP has been sold up the river, they have accomplished almost all their election promises to date. Greens are also clearly still happy or they still be supporting this minority govt. I think both NDP and Greens have been clear, it is not a coalition so I am not sure where you are getting that.

Then stop coming in this thread once and month and making false claims about it being the lowest.

So you agree it isn't the best metric. Why continue to post it?

Again, no.

Lol. We can call it a "stable minority government" if it'll make you feel better. Either way, Green voters have clearly been hung out to dry.

I didn't even work for an auto manufacturer. They were the union for the gorcery store chain I worked for. We were the highest grosssing store in the company. It was done through giving employees 40 hours a week, but paying them "part time" wages instead of "full time". We asked for there to be more full time positions created. The company's offer was to not offer anymore, and to keep everything status quo.

Buzz Hargrove told us to come out with a strong strike mandate, which we did. Truth is, most of the employees were high school part time workers and would have made more in strike pay than we did working. CAW however knew that it would cost them a fuckton of money if we went on strike, they then "strongly advised" that we accept the dog shit offer otherwise they might close the store and fire us all. Which is obviously complete horseshit, but they decided to host the vote in the middle of the day when the only staff who were able to vote were the ones who the union and the company had bullied into thinking they had no choice but to sign. It was one of the greasiest things I've ever seen.

Jerry Dias' behaviour over the past year comes as absolutely no surprise at all to me.

Oh if those count then yeah, I've been the undisputed world champion in many gyms over Vancouver island. The tricep pull down cables with the balls on the end. I've knocked those things out so many times.

Are you trying to claim BC is manipulating or has an advantage in the employment stats published across Canada?

What do you suggest has put BC at the top of the jobs numbers being published if it is not a good economy?

Based of anecdotal evidence, as a resident of BC, the economy is doing great. Jobs are abundant. Employers are offering cash signing bonuses for many positions across many industries.

No. I'm suggesting the stat on its own doesn't even tell half a story. Let alone paint an entire picture.

Well, as previoulsy discussed, it isn't at the top. That being said, seeing as someone who's unemployed is just someone seeking employment. It could be virtually anything effecting the numbers up to and including a good economy. Come to think of it, I'd be curious to know how they stat someone who works 2 jobs, would they be 200% employed? In the interest of statistical accuracy they should be, but I digress.

I could say the same for myself, doesn't give it any weight though. I do enjoy the showering of rainbows though to posts you don't like, lol.

Talk circles around it all you want.

All provinces are being judged by the same points of measurement across Canada and these reports have been coming out for years based off this data.

Regardless of how you feel about the numbers, BC is leading the pack of Canadian provinces, based off our current measuring stick.

For unemployment, yes. BC has the lowest unemployment among provinces.

I feel compelled to ask, if you believe that unemployment is the lone indicator of economic strength, how could you possibly be of the opinion that we're headed for global recession when the world's largest economy has staggeringly low unemployment?

Does the economy shift or does everything just slow down. The lumber industry in BC is halted right now but construction is still going flat out

Thought so.
Where did I say any of the such you just asked me?

Lone indicator? Where did I state that? If anything I went out of my way to recolonize the numbers might not be an accurate portrayal of the true unemployment stats.... Yet all provinces are playing by the same flawed definition and held to the same standards.

Every month you make the same post about "Best economy in the country, check out these unemployment stats best in all the land!!!" Every month I point out, that they in fact aren't the best in all the land and that low unemployment doesn't equate to a strong economy. Then you go away for 29 days, then return and we do the same song and dance. As far as I can tell you have 2 choices. 1) Stop trotting out the same relatively meaningless statistic each month, or 2) keep doing it every month. Choice is yours, I'm good either way.

Well at least we both recognize it is consistent. BC is consistently leading the provincial pack to prosperity. Month after month. And yet we heard how an NDP govt was going to run BC into the ground. Here we are over 2 and a half years later and chicken little is still crying the sky is falling.
