In my opinion, this is literally the worst song of all time, and I mean that literally:

He's awesome.
Not too different than the solo I saw him perform back in the late 80s. I've seen VH live 7 or 8 times. Always a great show.

So
DLR van Halen
Or
Van hagard?

did the Red Rocker have it over Diamond Dave??? NO QUESTION DLRVH blew Van Hagar out of the water all day. The sheer force of DLRs personality was a big part of what gave Van Halen their edge over other bands.

I think all six albums DLRVH made between 1978 and 1984 are VH best

Saw them once with DLR. 1984 tour.
The rest were Sammy. Never saw them with Gary.

If you are asking my preference between the two just based on albums and songs - I like them both. DLR had more energy. Pure, raw rock-n-roll. But they made better music with Sammy. More polished.

My favorite VH albums are Fair Warning and Women & Children First, but 5150 and FUCK aren't far behind.

I couldn't name you a single song from the Gary years - even though I loved his former band Extreme.

1. VH1977 one of the Top 10 albums of any genre ever Ain’t Talking About Love”, “You Really Got Me”, and “Running With The Devil” are three of the most played Classic Rock songs of all-time for a good reason. “Eruption”,“Ice Cream Man” is utter perfection. “Jamie’s Crying”

2. Woman and Children 1st "And The Cradle Will Rock”, The sexual innuendos "i like the way the line runs up the back of your stockings" line in “Everybody Wants Some” is classic.

3. 1984 lol I know... “Jump” and “Panama” was for the MTV crowd at the time. Add in “Hot For Teacher” and “I’ll Wait” and you have four legitimate singles and bookend of the keyboard introduction and the conclusion of “Girl Gone Bad” and “House Of Pain”

4. VH II “Dance The Night Away”, “Spanish Fly”, a sexual romp “Beautiful Girls”, and a cover of fellow Californian Linda Ronstadt’s “You’re No Good”. this didn't live up to the perfection of their other previous albums

5. Fair Warning Probably the least popular by most fan’s estimation. The biggest single “Unchained” never charted but it’s all sex and attitude. “Mean Streets” is aggressive and in your face its a great tune

6. Diver Down A few cover songs? Who doesn’t love “Pretty Woman” and “Where Have All The Good Times Go” but c'mon, a little lack of originality here. Four of the tracks clock under 2 minutes each “Happy Trails” “Little Guitars Intro” there’s just not enough "umph" compared to the other albums.

If you say Van Hagar is better you should drive off a cliff as soon as possible. Diamond Dave is one of the top 3 front men ever

Fair Warning at 5?
I think you are just trying to piss me off.

And it's working.

Mean Streets, Unchained and So This Is Love are 3 of the best VH songs ever.

Dirty Movies is very underrated and Sinner's Swing is nothing short of fantastic.

Hear About if Later was solid. And Push Comes to Shove is a fantastic bluesy number.

Sunday Afternoon and One Foot are admittedly songs added to the album to balance out the run time from Side 1's awesomeness.
