holy crap. I remember the promos for 1 ice pick video going around and refused to watch.I had enough over the years of gore sites and just felt like I was getting numb to stuff I shouldn't get numb to. I had no idea how extensive that went, just the internet pushing the video and then hunting the guy. Gonna watch,.

same & know exactly how you feel. I did watch & remember the debate on whether it was real or not.

just finished episode 1. thought it was pretty good (but I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff).

I really wasn't aware of the cat & mouse game he played with the amateur sleuths.

finished last night, thought it was well done.

I like the focus on the two main sleuths & the chick made some interesting points about whether she was helping the cause or (in some way) encouraging the acts. it would be a weird thing to live with.

I always thought there might have been someone working with or behind the scenes with fuckface & had forgotten about Manny Lopez...

not so much anymore, but those extra hands on the python were never explained.

Ya the ending talking about manny Lopez really threw me for a loop.... the lawyer confirming all that info too.

What was also crazy was watching him casually strolling through Europe even though he was plastered all over world wide news.

He could have gotten away with it if he actually layed low for a few months.

no shit, that dude in the internet cafe was pretty cool.

I found that odd as well, his face was everywhere & he never really changed his look. moved around like he didn't have a care in the world. I also wondered where the hell he got all the money for travel & shit.

Its just about a piece of Shit homicidal maniac
truth.

it's also about the people who were enraged by the cat videos & started tracking him down. it's pretty interesting the lengths they went to try & identify/find him & how he infiltrated their groups to toy with them.

the cats were enough for me
same. I found it hard to watch. they come very close to showing some of the footage, but never do. It was telling to watch the detective describe the murder & scene almost robotically (which I would imagine being a homicide detective), but she fucking lost it when mentioning the puppy.

It says manny isn't real but there's another person in at least 2 of the videos he uploaded. The first one with the cat someone's talking in the back ground. And then another one with a cat and a snake there's another pair of hands.

There's definitely someone besides Luka involved in the cat videos.

Pretty good doc IMO and not too long like a lot of those netflix true crime shows are. I couldn't finish the Staircase for example, who the fuck has like 12 hours to watch that? But yeah.. definitely liked the way this doc went, with the whole following FB investigation shit etc. Really fascinating stuff. Fuckin total weirdo.

Manny Lopez was an alter ego, definitely not a real person. I thought that was pretty well explained.

I heard that the cat/python video, where you see the extra set of hands, was some asshole snake owner he met who didn't care/enjoyed seeing his snake eat the cats. I think that was as far as that went. I followed this as it happened on 4chan and stuff but had no idea how extensive it went with the FB group etc.

drop another true crime doc if you like. I love that shit.
Just started this last night. Pretty solid. I'm 1 episode in. I don't remember this happening at all so it's all new to me.

If you like true crime, I assume you watched The Jinx? I thought that was outstanding.

It's a good series.

I had not heard of this case and I started to watch the show thinking that it was a fictional story done in a Blair Witch type of format. It wasn't until I saw it continually described as a 'docu-series' that I looked into a bit more.

I initially thought that the characters were all actors, even after I knew that it was based on a true story. I was suprised to see that it's Luka's real mom, and that the fat chick and 'John Green' were the actual facebook geeks that started the group to try and find him. The producers and the director did a great job of making it seem more like a fictional TV crime show than a documentary.

One thing I didn't get was that the fat chick said that she used a fake account so she could have more freedom on social media, so it was very weird how Magnetto found where she worked and made the video in the casino she worked for (assuming that it was him and not someone that knew her simply trolling her). But then they show her logging in to the group as an admin and she's using her real name, and an animated profile pic of a chick who looks a bit like her, (only much thinner and younger). I assume that she had two FB accounts, one for trolling and one for when she wanted to be herself.

I love going in blind, I remember it all too well.

I did like The Jinx, signed up with HBO for it specifically. it was a wild ride. watched the movie based on Durst shortly after.

currently on 'who killed little gregory', OK so far.
