Hey guys, I've decided to permanently leave that other mma community.
You know which one I'm talking about. I recall this one being a lot more chill and friendly over here.
Question: Does this site have an app?
That is the only reason I've been over there so long.
you shouldnt need an app

It's crazy that Herb Dean has gone from one of the most respected refs in the sport to being justifiably questioned as a promotional plant to favor top fighters. That's how far his performances have fallen and his reffing in the Conor-Khabib fight was a disgrace.

I think it's just growing incompetence rather than corruption. Refs seem to need particularly good split-second decision making skills and once you lose them, they're gone. Herb seems to second-guess every decision he makes in there now.

Did I mention this card should be a cracker? Let's look at some stats!

Main event:
Connor: Soul stolen when submitted to khabib last fight, knocked out by Floyd fight before that. Only won 2 out of last 5 and one was a bullshit split decision.
Cerrone: knocked out in both of his last 2 fights, lost 6 out of last 10

Co-main:
Holly: also knocked out in her last fight, has lost 5 of her last 7.
Raquel: won her last fight!!! (But it was a bullshit split decision victory)... Lost the last 2 before that.

I stream for free and still feel I'm being ripped off for this card!
Find me an mma promotion who has put together a main card that comprises of at least two same-sized fighters who would beat any two of the fighters you complained about.

Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald would both beat Conor and Cowboy. And your point makes no fucking sense anyway.

You heard it here, folks- Conor McGregor vs Cowboy Cerrone is officially worse than Ronda Rousey vs Bethe Correia.
Yes, it very much is. The main event for UFC 190 was between two undefeated fighters fighting for a title, with a shitty but still far better undercard. The prelims for that card were better than the main card for this one.

You referenced the top fight. That’s what I’m responding to. There is no way in hell that literally any fight involving Bethe Correia is better than Conor vs Cowboy. I was merely pointing out the exaggeration.

I’ll give you Lima and Rory, but complaining about the depth of a UFC card and defending it with a Bellator example is laughable.

(I love Bellator btw, and I don’t think this card is really good, but if we are talking lackluster cards the UFC gets shit on disproportionally.)

As for my point making “no fucking sense,” I obviously disagree. My point was that merely comparing everyone’s recent records against top competition is not a good way to judge whether or not the fights are competitively compelling, particularly when it’s all that is being cited. The card isn’t a banger but your point didn’t tell enough of the story to be a salient one.

Again, WMMA or not - which anyone subjected to my drunken internet rantings will attest, I'm not a fan of - Rousey and Bethe were both undefeated fighters and they were fighting for a title. Conor and Cowboy are just two guys coming off consecutive losses fighting for nothing.

And while we will never find out, I can almost guarantee that Rousey-Bethe got more PPV buys than Conor-Cowboy will (and if you think that's far-fetched, you don't understand what the ESPN deal has done to the PPV market).

Objectively, Rousey-Bethe was a more meaningful fight and also probably more worthy of headlining a PPV if we are talking pure business (but we can't know that, so it serves neither argument.).
