A quick review of the thread says I've managed to disappoint everyone except maybe you.
Now to get some tint on those front windows.

Platinum
3.5 ecoboost
max trailer package
36 gallon fuel tank

BTW to get the full 13200 you have to have single cab f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost and max tow package. That said, the f150 still tows more than the competition with these setups in all cab sizes versus the equivalent competition.
How’re you liking the F150 and the eco boost? I bought a 2017 with the eco, and I have loved it so far. big upgrade in a number of ways from my Tacoma (don’t be mad at me BeardOfKnowledge @JonJonesBeard ;)). Gas mileage is significantly better in the F150 and it has way more get up and go. Much more comfortable for me.

the Tacoma TRD was a great and capable truck, and I had zero complaints with that truck other than it being too small.

Makes no difference to me what people drive. I just know bs excuses when I hear them particularly as it pertains to cars. I regularly hear people saying "oh, I bought this. I wanted that but it doesn't have *insert feature they wouldn't use and have never needed before*"

Like a locking rear diff :D

My Tacoma had one of those, and it was cool and all, but I only ever used it a couple of times. And that was only because I wanted to try it out (i.e. not out of necessity). I think it only worked in 4-Low anyway, which I don't use nearly as much as high.

One other F150 thing Splinty @Splinty

Does your F150 have the auto start/stop for the engine? That's the main feature I don't care for. It can be shut off with a button, and it works fine in some situations, but in the heavy Austin rush hour stop-n-go traffic it can get annoying. It does help city mileage if used though.

I have looked into a couple of ways to permanently disable, but if I'm being honest I likely won't bother as it isn't a huge deal.

I'm off road pretty frequently with the amount of hunting I do, and I live in a place where we frequently get large dumps of snow. I've used my locking rear diff exactly 0 times in 6 years, lol. Now that you mention it I've only used 4 low once.

The EcoBoost 3.5 with the 10 speed is an excellent combination. It is the type of modern drive train I wish our 4runner had.

Yes it has that.
Has been less bothersome than in rental cars I've had with it. But I'm not nearly as much city driving as you are.

Flash ECU to disable but I'm not sure I care that much.

I drive off-road almost daily at work, but usually nothing too crazy. Anything from driving on active construction sites, to navigating through open ranchland. Sometimes it's a little muddy, but I don't really do too much intense "mudding". I use 4x4 more for the rocky and jagged limestone terrain here and less for mud. The 4x4 lets me get past rocky sections slower and more methodically, and ultimately not abusing my truck. I have really enjoyed my F150, but my Tacoma was awesome as my work truck. Significantly more nimble and better in narrow spots. It was a very capable truck.

Yeah, I'm nitpicking a bit about the auto start/stop. It doesn't bother me that much, but I do find myself shutting it off a lot in traffic. My truck was the last year of the 6 speed, so I didn't get the 10. That would be a nice upgrade. I do love my eco though.

Think I'm going to remove the FX4 stickers.
FX4 is the trim package worth the extra $ compared to the xlt?
I havent looked at the '18s but on my model I didnt like the gear shift in the center of the cab, essentially losing that middle seat, opposed to being located on the steering column. I generally need that extra space.

Just drove by the Ford lot. The new trucks are fucking ugly. The front of them looks feminine. Would not drive one. I predict sales go way down
