The video sure doesn't look like it's a "good" shooting, but if someone was stabbed there's obviously some shit we're not seeing in the video.

Local residents said they know the man involved in the incident and believe he is homeless.

“I usually see this guy,” said Flores.

Flores said the man usually keeps to himself, but on Saturday night he was acting erratically.

“He was chasing after people with a knife, like a nunchuck,” she said.

Paramedics transported the subject to Ryder Trauma Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators said the officer was also transported to Ryder Trauma Center, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The officer was alert and conscious during transport. He was rushed into emergency surgery upon arrival and is currently listed in stable condition.

It looks like the first cop let a shot off while drawing his gun, almost shooting himself in the leg (so definitely not a good shot) and from there everyone just started popping off shots.
Hard to say from that angle as we couldn't see anything because the dude fell behind the shrub, but at the start anyway he didn't look that threatening, and it looked like he was on the ground when they shot him. From the comfort of my lounge it seemed like a situation that could have been diffused without weapons, and even after the stun gun, I would've thought more tasering and pepper spray would've done the job as he was laying on the ground which isn't much of a threat.

Was the first "shot" a taser, then they moved in, then they shot him?

But LOL @ "he succumbed to his injuries". Yeah that usually happens when you shoot someone a thousand times.

I'm pretty sure there was a way to end that standoff without gunfire - especially if that was a taser that knocked him down at first... But 'Murican cops gonna 'Murican cop.

I'm guessing he twitched and that's why they fired all those extra shots at the end?

Why go near someone with a knife?
You can't really tell why they pulled the trigger, but the cop shouldn't have been that close to him to begin with.

They shouldn’t have been that close until it was clear he dropped the knife. You already have good contact with the taser. Pop his ass with some electricity until he drops it. Running in before the threat being clear was dumb on their part. That said, he did still have the knife and stab one of them, so clap-a-lap
