There has been quite an influx of new members as of late, so a big warm welcome to all the new joiners of our community... and that is exactly what it is here, a "community." This is a great site full of awesome people. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of ball-busting and playful banter, but without the negativity of many other sites.
I have been here for a couple years and absolutely love it. Like many of you, a good portion of us here came to TMMAC after being disillusioned with other sites for a multitude of reasons. We have all been where you were at some point, so here are a few tips to help with your assimilation...
- Check out the New Members Section New Member Introductions to introduce yourself to the community. There are also guides to posting here, community standards, and many answers to FAQ.
- No one cares what your experience was with other sites which led you here; we are just happy you are here.
- We understand the urge to shit on wherever you may have come from before here, but its better for everyone to just leave that shit in the past. Also consider than many people post on multiple sites, and odds are you may too to some extent, so no need to worry about any other site while you are here.
- The live discussions during fights are second to none here. A thread for an upcoming event will appear (and stay) at the top of the "Cageside - MMA Discussion" section. The thread refreshes live during events so you'll see new posts coming through all night. The conversations and laughs you'll have during fight nights will be some of the most fun you have here, so definitely give it a shot!
- While not everyone who creates an account sticks around, this place is what we make of it. Post regularly, share, make an effort to get to know the other members.
- If you need anything, ask. Mods are responsive and most members are here to support each other.
- Don't be scorned by your past online interactions on other sites. If someone makes a joking comment, know that there is a very high likelihood that it is being made in jest to have some fun. There are very few attacks here, so if someone busts your balls, no need to go on the offensive. Just have fun with it. You'll figure out who the usual suspects are soon, so don't read into anything too far off the bat.
