I was recommended a video series recently by a guy called Ronald Finger, a young man restoring a Pontiac Fiero:

I enjoyed that, especially as it was just some guy restoring a relatively cheap car for the love of it, rather than some professional restoration workshop doing a concourse restoration of a high value car. After I caught up to date on that, I went hunting for others.

I liked Jo Daddy's Garage, I've just caught up to date on his 1968 Mustang project, he has other series that I'm going to check out as well:

Fuzzy Dice projects is fun, I enjoyed both the ongoing restoration of a 1991 Pontiac Firebird:

as well as the 1988 Chevy Blazer:

Lastly in this list there's Curiosity Incorporated. He's not specifically a car channel, but he bought an old 1960s Rolls Royce convertible that had been trashed by a family of raccoons, and is trying to make it into a fun car to take his family for outings:

Do any of you guys like these kinds of videos? Any recommendations?

Filthy @Filthy is attempting a resto

I love that type of video even though I don't own or work on classic cars

I'd love to restore a 66 mustang sometime. It's on my bucket list.

I found a British guy called Maximus Ironthumper doing something similar with a Series 2a Land Rover, not going for restoration as much as "rustoration", getting it roadworthy rather than pretty:

He's an interesting guy, he has another video series about off grid living, as well as one with him bringing an old Soviet era 6 wheel drive military truck back to life in order to build something mad on the bed of it (not got far enough into that series to know what it is yet, but apparently it involves Tesla coils lol).

Watched all of the Fiero videos. That dude already knows more about cars than I ever will. The interior turned out badass. If he goes thru with the body work and pain job, that thing is going to be sweet.

Interesting stuff. That dude must be loaded, based on that property. All of those barns, etc.
He looks like a farmer given the tractors & harvesters etc that are shown inside the barns in later episodes.

EDIT: Also, he refers to it as his "winter project" in one of the first videos.

Beamer sitting there in the garage too, which isn't uncommon in Europe, but still. Bet that dude has bank lol.

I have no automotive knowledge, but I love restoration shows. Some of the ones on Netflix are corny and overly scripted, but fun for a guilty pleasure. Rust Valley Restorers was decent. Car Masters: Rust to Riches was really good, but I'm not sure if that had more to do with the show itself or the lovely Constance Nunes who seems to be as talented as she is sexy.

I appreciate your suggestion, and very much appreciate the pictures of miss Nunez! However I have become somewhat tired of the TV restoration shows, with all the fake bullcrappery that goes on. I don't care about the super tight deadline that they only just manage to beat each episode, or the fake arguments / drama between the guys working there, or how the cars are bought / sold in some amazing trade that makes a shitload of money.

What I like to do is relax and watch someone actually working on the car, see the (unscripted) challenges they overcome, and see them finally produce something awesome. That's why I have turned to Youtube to try to find my fix.

OK I just found a new channel on Youtube, and it's insane. Not so much because of the work being done, but because he films the restorations entirely in stop motion.

It's not like restoring a car is anything but a long and intricate process anyway, but stopping every few moments to take another still shot for the stop motion video must slow things down to a crawl.

This is the first one I'm watching, the restoration of a classic Range Rover that took 4 years:
