There is a commercial that keeps coming on that tries to trick the viewer into believing that this truck’s rear cameras can somehow see through the attached trailer.



Total bullshit.

From Popular Mechanics:

“No, the new 2020 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty can't drape an invisibility cloak on top of your trailer-those don't exist yet-but with cameras, it can almost do the same thing. By combining the images from the tailgate back-up camera and an auxiliary camera attached to the back of your trailer, the Sierra HD can show you what's hiding behind your trailer.”

I’m outraged.

Chevy's commercials are horrible. They've been doing the same shit for years. A focus group of "real people" being AMAZED by Chevy vehicles and their awards. So stupid.

As for this stupid feature - It's gonna be funny when some redneck backs into someone and blames the technology because he forgot he had a trailer hooked to his truck.

Good point. They lift those big boxes that cover the Chevy or whatever the setup is and the actors playing like they are real people get all shocked and giddy. I’m sick of that shit.

I just test drove a 2020 GMC HD and the salesman made a big deal about how the rear camera does not really let you “see through” the trailer. You don’t say...
The auxiliary camera to put on the trailer is a nice feature regardless

They did the same fake shit when testing the durability of their truck beds. They dumped huge rocks in the Ford from 5 feet up and dumped, from a fraction of that height, only smaller rocks in the Chevy bed.

Fuck them just purely on this bullshit. Love my Ford btw
