Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal has become law after clearing all parliamentary hurdles and receiving royal assent (Picture: Getty

) Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal has become law after clearing all parliamentary hurdles and receiving royal assent. Some MPs cheered as deputy speaker Nigel Evans confirmed the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act had been given the Queen’s approval in a short announcement to the Commons. The Brexit bill still needs to be ratified by the EU but is expected to do so in time for the UK to leave as planned at 11pm on January 31. After more than three years of bitter disputes over how when and if Brexit would go ahead, the Prime Minister’s revised deal was finally approved by Parliament on Wednesday night. The consent vote in the EU Parliament will take place on January 29.

So it's official now, eh?

They did it. The crazy bastards did it.
The blue flag is gone.

Now what?

Nothing has changed. We still have to follow EU legislation, allow them to come here and pay the EU fees.

It's Brexit in name only.

So other than taking down the flag...nothing?

We will actually know what's up when the transition period is over. Deal or no deal.

As an example, "No more financial contributions!"

He seems to have a different view on the reality of Brexit.
Can you elaborate on that? As an outsider it seems to me that getting away from being beholden to foreign bureaucrats would be a good thing, and that's the impression I got was that you would be doing exactly that. But from what you're saying it seems to not be the case at all. But yeah, if you could explain it that'd cool.

We've only left in name. For the next 11 months the UK will try to negotiate a trade deal with the EU. Until then, we still follow their laws, pay their fees and let their citizens travel here freely.

Farage doesn't seem to understand that.

I suspect Farage does understand the situation, but his supporters....I'm not so clear.
