Why does everyone call-out GSP?

Good perspective by Sonnen. Spot on assessment that despite being current champs, that doesn’t automatically make people (or themselves) believe they are the best.
In my opinion..
- Fighters recognize that while he doesn’t ever need to fight that fire is still burning and he would likely come back if the UFC made it worth his while
- They know he is the GOAT martial artist but believe he has lost enough of a step and been away long enough that they could possible beat him
- Outside Conor he is still the biggest money fight out there

Beating GSP would be a huge accomplishment on their resume. Even if they can't beat him it's a big money high profile fight. Why not try to face him. It's kind of a no lose situation. You win and you are the man. You lose and it was the GOAT GSP. It's not a bad loss.
Great points. I'd also add that he has toyed with fighting at Middleweight, Welterweight, and Lightweight for the past couple of years. Opens the pool up in terms of people who could conceivably get a fight with him. Beating GSP is quite a notch in the belt, and if you lose? You lost to freaking GSP.
