$2100. The flywheel was so bent he couldn't believe it was still on the road. The slave was leaking by the time he replaced it.

He was trying to charge me $600 more till I pointed out that I'd seen Cooper S flywheels for $500 online. Fucker.

Anywhore. I'll get my brakes replaced and sell it
Bending the flywheel is actually rare. You created a unicorn. The leaking slave explains the clutch traveling to the floor though, which is why that’s literally the first thing I mentioned. Don’t use that dude again please.

Am I clever?

I'm wondering if it's been fucked since I bought it like 2.5 years ago and that's why the clutch has always been a bit tough, I've only done like 2000 miles in it. See when I pick it up later I guess.

Picking it up in a bit.
Bit of advice - when shifting gears, try to avoid pressing the clutch pedal (left foot) and gas pedal at the same time.

In simpler terms, remove right foot from vroom-vroom completely when pressing down with left foot and changing stick thingy from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 etc.

Bit of advice. Chances are I've worked more sticks than you, figuratively as well as literally.

So belt up. The struggle now is that he's bound to have changed my seat position and I'm going to have to drive it back with the steering wheel knocking the fuck out of my knees.

I learned stick before automatic. I haven't owned a manual transmission car in years but I still do shit like pull up my e-brake after parking on flat surfaces.

There were two. The reason they didn't charge me for the tow fee and any damage was because they didn't tell me.

You can't be expected to know about stuff that you literally don't know exist. My manual Fusion has one button, the Mini a normal handbrake.

I can't remember precisely the deal with the Vauxhall but I wasn't told it was a double thing.

Haha.
If I don't flog it soon I'll likely be calling upon yours, Nemo? @Nemo? and BeardOfKnowledge @JonJonesBeard but I need it to get me to and from work a few miles a day and I like the clutch pedal being nice and easy so I'm going to enjoy it for a little while.

Doesn't the volume of updates make it apparent how delusional self driving cars actually are?

yes but knowing how delusional it is feels like being part of an secret club........Can't wait for all these fancy lane departure, back up camera'ing, hazard warning cars are due for alignment and people start shitting bricks at the cost.

b00ts @b00ts Nemo? @Nemo?
How much is a new handbrake and brakes likely to set me back?

I had the car parked on a slope the other day to get shopping out of the boot before parking it in the garage. Good job the door was open, it started rolling down the hill and I had to jump in to stop it crashing into a neighbour's truck.

Car won't roll if you leave it in gear. If the nose if pointing downhill, you put it in reverse. Uphill, you put it in first.
Promise? I didn't know the handrbake was fucked till I had to jump in to stop it so I wasn't being a wally, I didn't expect it to happen.

I'm a fucking weakling, I have to pull the armrest up and double hand the hand break to make sure it's locked in so it isn't like I forgot.

Try it on a shallow grade, and report back. It might not work on some San Francisco hill, but on most grades it'll do the trick. You're also supposed to park with your wheels turned so the car will roll off the road and not down it.

I know that. It was in my apartment car park. Easier to park up and get the shopping out before putting it in the garage. It started making a creaking noise and then I had to chase it down the hill.

I didn't know that till my first American driving test revision though.

They don't teach that in England?
