Person has to be down for 3 seconds, it's not that hard. The problem will always be, what determines what comples a take down. No one will ever agree in that.

Agreed.I see that
but one of the takedown was initiated Jones got rocked hard...so he just shot for legs
This is interesting, I've seen it posted a few times.2nd round was the swing round. 48-47 either way.
Pulling guard would be a wash ...I never hear about points being scored when pulling guard.
They weren’t even complete takedowns.Sort of. If you've never grappled before you don't know that getting right back up is also effective grappling.
You’re *@CreativeClassMauler
@Splinty and @Wild just approached me about modding
You are first.
I see you @Joemacka
Hope your well bud
Same point I was making. Getting a guy down by whatever means then him getting back up doesn't account for much. Watching guys dive for a hail Mary TD with 20 seconds on the clock shouldn't be a thing.Pulling guard would be a wash ...
Takedown should be credited with some value but if the opponent immedialty gets back to his feet and is able to separate should also be given credit with value ...so if both is to occur back to back it should be a wash as well in regards to scoring ...IMO
The scoring system is obviously flawed ...it’s like when Shogun Vs Machida 1 went down and Cecil peoples scores the fight in Machida a favor later stating “leg kicks don’t win fights”.
They'd be complete under IBJJF rules (Yes, I know this isn't IBJJF) I'm just trying to figure out how they arrived at this conclusion. They weren’t even complete takedowns.
I saw 1&3 clearly reyes 4&5 Jones. Now because im not a fan of Jones i try not to be bias so id have to watch that 2nd again but i gave it to him at thr time but it was very close. This is interesting, I've seen it posted a few times.
Iirc, Reyes took it for the first 2 minutes, Jones took the next two minutes, then Reyes tipped it for the next 30 seconds with good shots & Jones didn't make a comeback.
To me judging on implented criteria, the 3rd round was closest.
So basically Maia had 300 takedowns vs Woodley, Usman, and Covington. They'd be complete under IBJJF rules (Yes, I know this isn't IBJJF) I'm just trying to figure out how they arrived at this conclusion.
Pulling guard should be scored as a takedown because you're putting yourself in a disadvantagous position with a few notable exceptions. That being said, the judges should be knowledgeable enough to be able to tell the difference. Or, if someone wanted to pull guard and do somethign with the position score it accordingly, if you pull guard and get your brains beat in, again score it accordingly.Pulling guard would be a wash ...

Takedown with no damage mean to me, stop hitting me. Zero points.Wouldn’t immedialty getting back up to your feet equalize the takedown in regards to points
I don't think Maia ever took Woodley down and kept him there for 3 seconds, anytime he'd get a grip Woodley would fucking run away. Woodley also should have been penalized for actively disengaging. Don't remember the Colby or Usman fights. So basically Maia had 300 takedowns vs Woodley, Usman, and Covington.
I was jokingI don't think Maia ever took Woodley down and kept him there for 3 seconds, anytime he'd get a grip Woodley would fucking run away. Woodley also should have been penalized for actively disengaging. Don't remember the Colby or Usman fights.
Nobody remembers colby or usman fights because they are boring.I don't think Maia ever took Woodley down and kept him there for 3 seconds, anytime he'd get a grip Woodley would fucking run away. This is him after he decided to take people’s advice and listen to Joe Rogan49-46
My God who is that judge
I'd like to see a judge use a loose interpretation of the rules and judge fights based on the outcomes of rounds rather than the individual components. Hard to explain, but it would get away from rounds being one or lost on "One big event"I was joking
Seems like you actually had to take a fighter down to have a takedown for 97% history of the sport. Like actually make then touch the mat beyond a knee.
