At this point I think if he's ever gonna move up to hw, now is the time. He's destroyed everyone at lhw and has nothing to prove.

Maybe he could even go whip DC at hw?

Not HW

he just got a reminder that big guys aren't as easy to keep at range

Somehow I think he will avoid rematches with Santos and Reyes

They should make him fight Reyes, which Jones will try to avoid at any cost.

With that in mind, I was thinking he was gonna push for the Stylebender fight, but seems like he avoided questions about him post 247.

He may challenge a top 10-5 HW. High pace striking doesn’t seem to be his favorite thing at the moment

Why would he duck a rematch? Nobody survives twice against Jones

I mean, one case he tested positive immediately after. Then the next he had “left over” traces. You’re right, but, feel an asterisk is recommended

Yep. He always does even better in rematches.
If he ever rematches Reyes, I predict a fight altering groin shot early in the first round so he won't have to work as hard and get hit as much.

Or perhaps a good illegal knee

easy, the winner of Corey Anderson vs Jan Blankets, put that for July, had Reyes rematch Volkan in the meantime. Then after Jones beats Corey Anderson or Jan, he can beat Reyes even more easier this time

I love how the Jones haters like to leave out how he always takes over as the fight goes on and dominates rematches, that tells you how great he is

His Late Cardio and Push is legendary...almost superhuman at times.

Cory Anderson is gonna get his legs chopped up if he fights Jon but I guess he is next...wonder if Santos is healthy yet?

Hasn't he only had two rematches so far? I know he KOed DC on Picograms and I saw a illegal foul injured gus get tuned up and TKOed

Jon is amazing and tactical, most of all he is tough and resilient.

The dude hasn't ever been finished and that says a lot considering who he has fought

There are asterisks of course

Not trying to be a dick, but have you not watched any of his recent fights? He's turned into a guy who eeks out close decisions right before our eyes. In a twist of irony, he hasn't been himself since the first DC fight 5 long years ago.

To be fair he should fight Reyes and Santos at same time, then they may have a chance.

I would still bet on JJ

I agree fully

His chin is very good, and cardio late is still impressive
He is tactical as far as spamming that knee ruining kick all day

Other than that, he really is a decision machine and fairly unimpressive

I was just saying some positives to go with the negatives I had pointed out.

I know he left some in the ring from DC 1and 2...Santos and Reyes also did some lifelong damage most likely

Yeah, I think Corey and Jan present almost no worries to Jon. They are both grinders, over achiever types, well rounded, but I dont think either are great, just really good. I think Santos is another easy fight for Jones, I think Jon just wanted to strike wtih Thiago and Dom was tough to get to the mat but I think in a 2nd bout Jon is taking Thiago down easily

That guy that lost a clsoe fight to Volkan, Rakic could be there in a year if he is active , I heard they got Jiri also

Santos might never be the same
both knees

Shogun had both knees done and no longer kicks like a mule

I would like to see the rematches, very worthy fighters

Johnny Walker would be fun also
Along with some of the hungry dudes you mentioned

Everybody loses...MMA is full of Hungry Fighters...Gonna take a finish most likely to end the Jones Era
