nah new age travellers and gypsy communities don't mix AT ALL mate, sworn enemies.
I remember one time a gypsy van drove on to our site and before they'd done a full circuit the travellers were pouring out of their homes with weapons, shovels, hammers, lumps of wood etc and swarmed towards the van from every direction. They got the hell out of there quicker than they came in
wasn't a rallying cry or nothing, they just saw em and knew what time it was hahaI got so many stories of encounters with them from the 6yrs or so we travelled.

We needed to get out of Blackburn so my dad kitted out a coach and we left
we had a cousin on a site in north Wales so we went there and began our adventure. We all settled down again after spending most of that 6yr period travelling around sussex. It was kinda funny because the first week we lived in the bus just below the council estate we lived on years earlier and they treat us like scum even though we fucking knew them traveller scum to them and still townies to the travellers, couldn't fucken win.

I'd already quit after the first year of high school and was doing home education for a year while the bus was being outfitted. It stopped once we reached site though, I took drugs and basically did whatever I wanted. Got my own caravan about a month after we landed in Wales and just upgraded to a better trailer every now and then.
We lived in a "fake" castle, it's called a folly and is basically a mansion that looks like a castle from the front. They'd just finished filming Prince Valiant there and left when we arrived, a bunch of travellers we met there were hired as extras.
It wasn't quite as overgrown at the time, they fenced it off and bricked up windows in this photo

ah I know of them, they were a big deal at castle morton common, I met a lot of people that lived on that site when the festival was underway
that place looked crazy AF, I never lived anywhere with that many travellers

I have Irish travellers at my gym. They're decent people. Calling them pikeys or gypos is very offensive. You'll get banged out saying that to their faces.
When I was growing up, I hated travellers. Yes, the ones who move into a field in caravans often cause a mess and steal stuff. But not all travellers are the same, some are very decent people, more decent that the people who generalise and discriminate against them.

When I moved to Kent at 16 to do the cable installations a bunch of them tried to steal my rings I was wearing...I stood up for myself and they didn't back down but showed me enough respect to let it go...I walked away with my shit without a punch being thrown.
They are not all bad.
