As of right now I am fairly split. On one hand Tyson I feel is the better boxer in terms of angles, combos, head movement, footwork, however Deontay is younger, hasn't been hit as hard(fresher chin), and since the rematch what both have done in the ring I think favors Deontay. Deontay's competition was better, and very similar to how the Tyson fight was going, Deontay was losing against Ortiz but none of it mattered when Deontay connected.

Picking Fury on this one, he got robbed the first go-around. I think Deontay will come in better for this one but from the press-conferences he's still relying on his power.

Think fury won the first. Not sure how this one's gonna go down. Fury has switched trainer I think and says he's gonna knock him out. I think that's gonna leave him open to eat some shots. We will see

His trainer was shit though by all accounts, it might actually be a blessing that he switched.

Do you guys really think Tyson will come in with intentions of trying to take out Wilder in the first 2 rounds or is that just postering?

If I was Wilder I'd prepare for everything. I can however, see Tyson trying to make due on this strategy. I mean the first fight using his technical skills seemed to be successful for the most part, but he did get a draw so perhaps Tyson is thinking, "I know I can take his best shot, but he still hasn't had mine", and maybe Tyson really will try to bring the heat early on to take out Deontay and make a statement.

With these two heavyweights, literally anything can happen. It's what makes this fight and this sport so exciting right now.

I think Tyson will try but not force it if that makes sense. He'll still stick and move and do his thing but definitely try to capitalize more instead of more pitter patter. I think he wants to finish this one so he doesn't get robbed again.

If he wins at least 8 rounds and gets robbed again I'm done with boxing.

Until the next event where it will happen to some other poor bastard :D

Obligatory...

"To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Deontay Wilder. The skillset is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the sweet science most of the skill will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Deontay's grand outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Floyd Mayweather Jr, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this figher, to realise that they’re not just witnessing greatness- they are witnessing the heavyweight GOAT. As a consequence people who dislike Deontay Wilder truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Deontay's existential catchphrase “Bomb Squad!,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Fat Joe's Terror Squad. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Deontay Wilder's supremacy unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Deontay Wilder tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 boxing IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid"
Just 5 more sleeps til Bombsquad!

LoL @ Fury...

Also good to hear he is pulling his wire so much, the last thing the world needs is more inbred pikes running around, his wife/sister has already given birth to a litter.

Edit: unacceptable racism - L

HYPED for this fight. Been watching all kinds of promos etc to prepare.

Is it just me, or should someone with Wilder's KO record be WAY more famous? Why isn't he anywhere near Mike Tyson fame? Or am I just misperceiving? Wilder somehow just does not have a memorable charisma or likability imo, I remember one hype vid where Wilder was praising Ali for his real-ness and ability to walk among the people and be liked by everyone. Wilder said he aspires for the same thing - but then they cut to a clip of Wilder trying to mingle with people and he's all decked out in bling and intimidating sunglasses etc and people are scared of him lol :D

IMHO, if Wilder wins, the fight will be more or less forgotten with time, and both names will sink into the fog of time.
But if Fury wins, that shit will go down in history and people will be talking bout The Gypsy King forever.

That's why I'm rooting for Fury, I wanna see some history here.

I am also a huge fan of how Fury turned himself around, after winning the title he ballooned up and started drinking/drugs and suicidal. He had some moment of enlightenment, lost a massive amount of weight and won his title again. That alone is an amazing story.

I think some of it is because he didn't fight anyone decent until his 40th fight, hardcore boxing fans are smart, they knew what they were being fed. He was just a scary thug and it's hard to market that when it doesn't come packaged with actual skills like Tyson had.

Can you throw this on the calendar D241 @D-raw ?
At first I had no idea what you were talking about. Then I looked and saw Calendar next to shp/members and clicked on it, but that's all I can do. I tried to click on the date but it doesn't allow me to. I'm thinking it's a mod feature.
