I don't know about the soundtrack. But this will always be the greatest video game intro to me as a kid.

Only game intro I never skipped.
Music always got me pumped to play. Here's the clearly early 2000's Alt Rock Soundtrack.

Gran Turismo 2 followed on from its predeccessor by incorporation popular music in its soundtrack. Gran Turismo 2 further increased the number of tracks on-disc by separating the two gametypes, arcade and simulation, onto two discs. This allowed for more space to place audio. Below is the ingame track list, followed by the official soundtrack CDs. The PAL version has a different soundtrack.

I got this when it came out. It had a red disc and a blue disc and they were scratch and sniff. Smelt like brand new car tires.

Yes I'm being serious

Akira Yamaoka on any of the Silent Hill games he worked on . It is a hard choice because there's a lot of good music. I hate to have to choose one.

The only song from a game's soundtrack I have on my playlist is Ancient Astronauts "Oblivion" from the Test Drive series.

I can still hum the music from F-Zero on SNES and Punch-Out on the NES but that probably just been drilled in through sheer repetition since they were so hard to beat.

Not many people were aware of this or if so they didn't try it out, but there were a couple games after the game loaded, you could remove the disc with the game still functioning and you could insert your own music disc, and listen to your own music on the ps one while still playing the ps1 game.

GTA 3 did this and it was pretty fun.

Quality post and quality recommendation.

I'm 40 and still play video games daily. I've been a gamer practically my whole life and that being said, if someone was to ask me "what's the best video game memory you have", I wouldn't hesitate.

Must've been early 2000's I was managing a Gamestop and we had Gran Turismo 2 on one of the demo units. It was slow so I was doing a race. I was using the TVR Cerebra(bad ass in that version).

It was the final lap on Trial Mountain. Towards the end of the race the last zig zag turn I was in front but 2nd and 3rd were right on my ass. I turned right but 2nd place was on my inside and he kind of pit maneuvered me.

I drive with a manual so I already was drifting but when I spun from the collision, I quickly threw it into reverse, the 3rd place guy was on my outside with 1st place on my inside, I continued on the turn in reverse, the road straightened out for a second before it started to turn the other way and I did this bad ass like 180 into a 360, passing back 1st place to get first place.

I remember it very well it was that bad ass lol
