to be honest i didnt know lil nog was still fighting
Same here, thought he had retired as well, his UFC run has been a bit lackluster with nothing really standing out despite absolutely wrecking Rashad.

Crazy to think these two first met 15 years ago back in 2005.

funky match

But OK

Shogun would be well served to get a picogram exemption if he wants to fight much more...those knees are so shot...Has thrown like 5 leg kicks in his last 8 fights...Used to be top 3 hardest kickers around

Shogun Vs Machida 1 was the last time we saw Shogun go full throttle with his leg kicks and in that fight I believe he blew out one of his knees for the 2nd time.

It’s unfortunate UFC fans never got to see the Prime High Flying Balls to the Wall 2005 PrideFC style Shogun.

I know for sure he blew one out in Machida 2...machida shoots a takedown and injured Rua

on autopilot and full of adrenaline Shogun lands the beautiful counter of a counter KO punch

Ya he was never the same athletically after those injuries.

Then he comes back from that blown knee and gets his injured knee chopped to shit by Jones knee breaker kick

Still a helluva a fighter, but shogun machida 1 was the last of the super athletic thai style kick boxer

Now he is a very heavy handed plodding boxer with great counters and very solid ground game

It’s pretty sad how one dimensional he has become..mainly due to the numerous knee injuries.

Always comes out walking straight forward with that little side to side movement hands high defensively protecting his head....then looks to throw some hooks - clinch - trip..

Very predictable but still a warrior going hard always lookin to finish.

These two are obviously well past their primes but they are an old relic to the golden age when everything was still fresh and exciting ...both at the end of the road both fighters bodies breaking down ...gonna go out for one last mother fuckin battle for the ages!

Chute Boxe Vs. BTT

Will we get another Arona sighting like when he tried to get close and cheer on his old training partner Big Nog during his walkout against Shaub but was shunned away by security.

Machida looked awesome in that 2nd fight for the brief period he was conscious. It would've been nice to see that play out longer (with an uninjured Shogun too) because the first fight is highly underrated as people can only remember the judging controversy.
