So... he's Deontay Wilder?francis cant even box. he can punch hard but that is it
Wilder almost dropped dead after 2-3 minute rounds.francis almost dropped dead trying to go 3 rounds with derek lewis. he aint boxing anyone
Obviously he's a heavy under dog, the only reason I give Franics no chance at all is 4 ounce gloves. Think of how many people we've seen had their lights turned out by Conor? What happened when he caught Floyd clean with an uppercut? Nothing, that's what.If we're talking the 215lb Wilder that moved pretty well and didn't looked gassed after 2 rounds then I think Wilder would be too much for Francis. But if we're talking about the guy last night that had zero footwork and even less head movement BEFORE Fury started attacking then I think that a Francis that no longer has to worry about getting taken down or even real clinching with elbows and knees would have a damn good chance to land a bomb.
On pure, technical, boxing skills I wouldn't put Wilder that far ahead of Francis. This isn't a Mayweather/Conor kind of gap. Definitely better but he's still terribly raw and sloppy and now we have proof that a big, strong guy can bully him. Wilder should win handily but if he were to show up looking like he did from the first bell last night then I wouldn't be completely shocked if Francis turned his lights out with one clean bomb.
On one of those uppercuts I saw Floyd's lights go out for a split second.Obviously he's a heavy under dog, the only reason I give Franics no chance at all is 4 ounce gloves. That is a very good point. Conor definitely was close to finishing that fight in the first couple rounds, but my point remains that tripling the weight of the gloves has a big impact on the force of punches. Sure Francis sends people to the moon in MMA, but in a full boxing glove it's likely a different story. On one of those uppercuts I saw Floyd's lights go out for a split second.
Or long enough for the cameras to capture apparently. On one of those uppercuts I saw Floyd's lights go out for a split second.
It was very brief - millliseconds - and not long enough for the referee to notice.
