I have to say Splinty @Splinty

I hadn't voted, but wanted to see what the polling was looking like so just clicked the top name (Ngannou) then noticed you've made it so people can't change their votes. Well played.

I don't think Ngannou would win, but people don't seem to realize that the criticisms they're making against Ngannou largely apply to Wilder too.
Yep. I'm sure Wilder would just easily KO him, but I get the idea behind the freak fight.

Nobody (non-retarded) is saying Ngannou is a proper boxer like Fury or AJ. They are saying "Wilder is a big powerful spaz boxer who KOs better technical boxers than him, so why not see what happens when we match him up with an even less technical big powerful spaz boxer instead".

Not great logic, but there's certainly more intrigue in the outcome than Conor-Mayweather, and that's the incredibly low bar that has been set.

Maybe we can get Wilder vs. Spong as a "tune-up" fight in the near future? I mean, crazier things have happened. Spong was going to be fighting Usyk before he got USADA'd or whichever commission it was. He's far more technically sound that Francis but doesn't carry as much power in his hands. It would still be a good continuation of this absurd conversation.

Watch this Wilder 'highlight' video and feel sheepish. HW boxing is not the technical wonderland you think it is.

you always put words in other people's mouth when you want to disagree with them

But then you're strikingly measured in your description of things you support.

This thread is nothing more than pulling an ongoing argument from the internet into its own thread for a poll.
There's not more to it than that.

There's nothing weird about posting a gif of technical flaws in MMA boxing, but it is weird when we are talking about Wilder, hardly the poster child of technical boxing himself. Maybe I read into it.

By version do you mean they both have hands and use them to punch people, because that's the closest we can get to comparing them.
anybody in the top 15 of HW boxing knocks out Ngannou in < 8 rds. Deontay has the touch to do it in 2.

Francis has gas tank issues in a sport where the punch rate of HWs is comical.
and heavy-handed MMA << heavy-handed boxing.
