Just think, maybe now she will not grow up to me a criminal like Trayvon.

Imo it was overkill and much more likely to scar her and make her not trust authorities or society than keep her from a life of hard crime.
We disagree but I still like your style my man.

Ehh we can't disagree and get along, it confuses me....so I'm gonna take this as a sign of disrespect.

I have a few thoughts on this.
1) Why is a 6 year old kicking teachers? That's a symptom of horrible parenting.
2) Is it possible that due to teachers having their disciplinary options reduced, there is a policy to have all assaults against staff treated criminally?
3) Having a 6 year old introduced to police custody may desensitise her to it. She was terrified of being arrested; she may not be when she's 17 years old.

In summary, I wouldn't necessarily blame the teacher, they may just be following policy. I did find the video disturbing but to make any judgement based on that would be emotional.

I was hoping we could be friends or even lovers but if has to be this way...
Among my people there is a way to make peace between to men who have fought.

One of the men must be pink socked in front of the entire tribe.

Not it!

My concern (without watching the video) would be an undiagnosed disability. A great kid on sensory overload or having an autistic meltdown would absolutely kick a teacher.

"The girl suffers from sleep apnea, a condition she is working on managing through medication, and was acting out from sleep deprivation, the grandmother said — and never should have been hauled off from her Orlando elementary school in handcuffs."

https://nypost.com/2019/09/22/florida-6-year-old-arrested-handcuffed-for-elementary-school-tantrum/

Sleep issues are also more common in autistic or adhd kids, but even on their own can cause problems in someone so young.

Possible just a chat with a police officer would have made the impression they were looking for here. But we don't know what other incidents have occurred that made them want to handle cases like this more formally, maybe for documentation purposes? Idk.

I could see it as an overworked undersupported teacher responding to admin.
"If you aren't capable of controlling a classroom of small children maybe you should just call the police"

Teachers, parents, etc etc etc.
You're all wimps if you require the police to manage a 6 year old criminally.
it's the school-to-prison pipeline, child discipline by criminal justice.

I had a cop tell me one time "I only do two things: solve problems, and take people to jail."

Did the OP mention that this wasn't the only 6 yo the cop arrested that day?

1. Shes from orlando which is a hood shithole. Shes probably a hoodrat. Regardless of race.
2. Her grandmother is making statements. Shes probably raised by her. That enforces my hoodrat theory.
3. Sleep apnea is an excuse. Shes a little monster that probably lives on orange blossom trail. Full of crime and vice and disgust.
4. Teachers need to learn to check leg kicks. A hard block would drop a child to the ground.
5. I didnt read the article

The kid kicked the teacher.

Once physical altercations take place, it's likely the school's policy to call police instead of difuse the situation with common sense and guidance.

Once called, the police likely have to take her away. Might be an arranged setup with the school.

The cops were at least nice about it. They spoke in soft tones. It felt like a teaching moment to a degree, although the optics of a handcuffed 6 year old is horrible.

Nah I read officers are supposed to get permission from a supervisor before arresting anyone under 12 and he didn't. Charges have been dropped afaik. But I have to find the follow-up article I read again.
