i aint even mad. new years in japan is for freak shows. inoki bom ba ye 2014 had Josh Barnett & Naoya Ogawa vs. Kazuyuki Fujita & Minowaman in a tag team wrestling match ,crocop vs iishi, bob sapp ,shinya aoki and it was great.the japanese want to be entertained.we can not expect them to want the same things from samurai mma that we want from the ufc.i hope they put on a great show for new years eve and fedors next fight is someone of value.

the market of russia ,japan,and india is huge.if this thing takes off it can do very well even if north america is not on board

What kind of rules is Samarai going to have? I'm hoping Pride rules but seeing as its being shown on Spike I'm not sure if the casual viewers could handle seeing someone punted and stomped in the face.

Maybe they'll just edit it out which would be super lame.

hows his reputation in Japan following the Yakuza Pride scandal though?

There was always talk that Nobuyuki Sakakibara was working close with the Yakuza. That seems like a pretty large thing to try and get people to forget when starting a new promotion. Are the new backers some of these shady people again?

Could be. I remember way back when they would show Pride fights on their weekly show (I think it was on FSN) they would skip past the parts that had the stomps and kicks and just show a crowd shot.

I hope Spike doesn't do that.

The hardest thing for me, and I beleive this, is that fedor could negotiate an instant title shot against his nemesis werdum. If I wanted to. I'd understand taking a warm up or 2 first but if he really wants to scratch his itches he could yet he chooses not to.

And that's fine. Fedor can do whatever the fuck he wants. But the fan in me has a major sad right now that we diddnt get some major comeback that would be made into a movie some day.

I still think he's got it is the problem, I'd like him to prove his doubters wrong and show mma who's the boss

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to tune in to see this because I just love the sport. But it's a disgrace that Fedor is fighting a guy that's only 1-0 in MMA and carries a three fight losing streak in kickboxing. I can't argue with chasing the money, but I'm hoping he will try to challenge himself a little bit more and renegotiate with the UFC. Fedor has not really handled the latter part of his career very well and I do believe it has harmed his legacy.
