This is straight out of the Nazi Party's playbook ...Antifa is Sturmabteiling which was literally the "Storm Detachment", the Nazi Party's original paramilitary wing. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930.
Go study the Brownshirts and other thugs used by the communists, socialists, and fascists leading up to the rise in Power.
They are almost always he "first to be dismissed" in fact in Germany they were executed.
Why? First they are no longer of any use to them ...2. They need to get rid of anyone who may pose a risk down the road.
ANtifa was brought in to disturb the peace and create chaos ...History is repeating itself.
Nah, you probably need to read some actual history. The Brown Shirts were closer to the losers you saw storming the capitol building than to Antifa, which is more similar to the Antifaschistische Aktion affiliated with the KPD in Weimar Berlin, who both the ruling SPD coalition and the Nazis were eager to get rid of as troublemakers. There's in fact a direct intellectual through line from the mythology around the supposed "Querfront," whose historical existence and ideology is somewhat dubious, and the modern anti-globalist nationalist ethnocentric right, both in Europe and the US. Just as Antifa as an idea draws its inspiration directly from the KPD street tactics in concert with some more modern black flag anarchism.
If you knew anyone on the left or knew any recent media history, you'd know left accounts have been banned at the same rate as right leaning accounts on social media for the last 5 years. But disproportionately Left media has been silenced and marginalized historically over time by publishers, distributors and sellers going back to at least the first red scare, as Toelocku helpfully posted a short video about the other day.
Further, as recently as two years ago when there was a big purge of accounts on Facebook, anarchist and antifa sympathizer accounts got axed at the same rate (where rate is calculated by reach and follower count versus number of accounts) as right wing accounts. Same thing happened on YouTube with demonetization.
The elite order defends itself is one take and it's probably accurate, but most media companies will tell you they just don't have the energy, attention or nuance to moderate at scale, so the banhammer is the easiest weapon to turn to, particularly if an account is frequently reported. The good thing? People shouldn't think of these corporate attention harvesters as any kind of meaningful public square in the first place.
