He's got to be having a hard time swallowing the loss. The bs hype that himself and the UFC pushed on the public was an embarrassment to the sport of MMA.

What is Joe talking about when he says "my fighters" and when he refers to himself as a coach?

Is he talking about BJJ or something?

LOL I kind of let that one go. They were discussing how they would roast her. It was in the context of talking shit mean but fun. She obviously wasn't a willing participant, but the sort of funny part is they said before this that Brazilians probably wouldn't get roast humor.

Ronda was, and still is a great fighter, the most memorable female fighter MMA has ever known. This cannot be denied.

What Joe, Dana, etc have used these exaggerations to paint an unreaslitic picture a fighter could never live up to. And we are witnessing the backtracking of this. Maybe even the downplaying of Holly's accomplishment. The better prepared fighter? So Ronda wasn't prepared? How about just, the better fighter. Is that so hard to admit after having attached your idealistic attributes (and possible your ego) to describe Ronda?

After the fact it is easy to downplay one's accomplishments, and this shouldn't be done in Ronda's case. But in that process, do not downplay Holly's accomplishment by striking down that unbeatable, half-goddess, Ronda Rousy. That idea of Ronda is their creation, and they've seen that fail last weekend.

She was the Mike Tyson of MMA, the most dominant athlete of the world, She could beat any woman anytime, anywhere! Drunk on these words, Dana and co. are coming down and waking up with a Ronda hangover. And that is ok. Ronda has written WMMA history, I get it. She fell from their own homemade pedestal, not ours, and that should explain this essay from Joe.

People seem to be thinking Joe wrote all that. Those are not his words. It was whoever owns the CSA Gym in California. Joe reposted their post. Like a retweet on Twitter.

Oh I see. But we know many did echo these idealizing exaggerations about Ronda and ran with it. And those should especially acknowledge Holly's victory over Ronda in that same manner.

Joe is paid to hype shit up, it's not his fault when it blows up in his face. Despite all the hyperbole and flip flopping I still think Rogan is a great personality, especially for MMA. Eventually he will be replaced and a lot of people will miss his genuine excitement but not his ridiculous claims.

Lol I have paid to see Rogan and Hinchcliffe perform comedy, so I can't talk too much shit.

Regardless these cats are going through a mid life crisis big time.

Dana actually said on the podcast that the way this loss blows up shows that she is the Mike Tyson of MMA, coz apparently it is similar to the reaction to his Buster Douglas-loss.
I disagree.

dana will say anything to grasp the remains of a fantasy world he lived in and wants it to continue, rogan is nothing more than a puppet on danas lap. the rousey days are over lets move on and watch the new era begin.

I'm a fan of Joe and have also paid to watch him live so I'm not trying to hang him out here. If those aren't his words then that's fine but to repost them to his IG at the very least suggest he supports them. Being a hype man is a part of his job but it also bleeds into his own pod cast and other things he does. It's comments like how Ronda is a super hero and a once EVER type of person that raises the pedestal she's already on making her fall much worse once it happens. I just find it odd that he posts something that has a segment starting with fantasy then lists all the things he's been saying for a long time then seems to pass judgement on those same comments or ideas.

Rogan is a shill who hypes up people and actually seems to believe the nonsense he makes up. He did the same thing with Lesnar, talking about him being the product of vikings and talking about him like he is a god. Saying someone is a good fighter is one thing, but being completely delusional about a fighter, especially one who has barely been tested, is another.
