I think Romero has a good chance early, if Rockhold gets on top like Jacare did it will be trouble. Both are southpaw as well which makes things interesting.

I assume Weidman vs Jacare will happen as well.

Romero's cardio has yet to show me he lasts and I don't think he ends it early.

So Rockhold

Rockhold will take him. He's going to push a pace Romero can't handle and he's going to smash him to the body, which is going to further sap his energy. Romero will have a punchers chance against anybody fights and can knock any middleweight out at any given second, but it should be a slam dunk for Rockhold.

I think he is a bit of a slow starter which leaves him open to Romero's power when Romero is most dangerous. Both of their normal tactics will have to change though as they are both southpaw, Rockhold will be more open to a Romero double leg because of the stances.

Luke. After what Luke showed tonight I don't know how anyone could bet against him. I gotta admit I teared up after Luke won and his AKA teamates came in the octagon and hugged him. Really good moment.

This is where I would love for them to finally sign Khalidov and see what he's made of against the best, Khalidov and Rockhold have very similar skillsets in ways to finish fights and Khalidov having a bit more power.

Moussasi had a chance to be the same but he just didn't deliver.

Luke by lumber jacking

He will kick the life out of Romero just like he did Chris and he'll be too slick on the ground Romero will avoid getting into it with him there

I think Rockhold weathers the early storm, romero gasses and Luke subs him within 3 rounds.

Khalidov is 35 and signed to KSW. He's never coming to the UFC, that ship has sailed.

I know it's wish list stuff. I realize the long shot it represents. He laughed at their offer. Shame.

Romero has a chance in the first two rounds, but I think Rockhold survives and crushes Romero in the 3rd or 4th round.

I actually think Romero has more of a chance against Rockhold than Weidman, but it's not a very big one.

I got Romero by 2nd or 3rd rnd KO.
It seems that almost EVERYONE is picking Rockhold and I probably should too but things are different today from when this thread was made.

Technically, Rockhold has all the tools to beat Romero. But what's missing for this fight is Rockhold's training partners. Although Romero doesn't utilize his wrestling too much, this is the fight Rockhold needs DC, Cain, and Khabib type of training partners more than ever. Rockhold's technique is solid but I always find him weak as fuck mentally. One of the indications of that is the fact that he's so self-conscious about his appearance, I know he's a handsome bastard but that shows a lot of insecurities.
The guys at AKA are always being criticized for training methods for so many of them gets injured constantly but besides getting injured, the way they do things builds mental toughness. As annoying as DC is (from Luke's perspective), the constant pressure from his wrestling or even just verbal jabbing will definitely help to build mental character.
I see his reasons for moving to Florida to train with Hooft but I don't think it's the same thing. Might be ring-rust, he looked very sluggish in his striking defense vs Branch and Romero has power to end the fight at any given moment. Rockhold is cocky as usual in his interviews, and everyone criticizes about him eating shots moving back, yes he might train that part with Hooft but somewhere in the fight, I feel like he'll lose focus.

Rockhold for the reasons everyone else is saying.

Not gonna deny Romero will always have knockout power and can land way after he is gassed, so will be nervous until its over.
