The actors are ancient and the director is even older which is the main reason all these modern sequels never work. There's only so many ideas in the human brain.
Actually methed out cory feldman might make for great cinema, is Data the only one that won an oscar out of the whole cast? I know Brolin was nominated.

Not new but kvr28 @kvr28 mentioned in the guns thread that last season of “Bosch Legacy” drops next month. See a lot of bitching that it’s ending and that the characters will become recurring in the new Renee Ballard series. Seems like they expect the Bosch series to reach some end before that happens, but that’s pretty much how the book series went so not sure exactly what they’re expecting. The TV series already “stole” some of the Ballard storyline from the novels to give Maddie something to do on Legacy.
I need to go back and finish Bosch, then move onto this. I think I got through like three seasons? It's a bit of a slow going, but when you get into it, it's very good.

I listened to the first book and really enjoyed it, too.

I’ve been reading the novels since early on. Reread the earliest ones now and you’re like, “For want a cell phone this could have been solved in a few pages…” The TV series is the soul reason I ever signed up for Amazon Prime in the first place, though it’s not needed for Legacy. The casting is great and the plots do a good job of following the novels, though in a somewhat mish-mashed and time compressed way that skips certain characters so they can have their own shows, ala “The Lincoln Lawyer” and the upcoming Renee Ballard series. Too bad they didn’t just crossover like the Marvel characters on Netflix.

I think that's why I stopped watching the show, now that I think about it.

I started reading the first book (well, listenging to the audiobook), which is the one where they found the dead guy in the pipe with the jewelry stores broken into, and the juvie kids robbing the gay dudes. I got into the season that started on some of those stories and had just started the book. I wanted to finish the book first, and ended up never going back to the show.

Yeah, each season of the series typically incorporates the plots of anywhere from 2-3 of the novels which makes reading the books and watching the show at the same time kind of confusing. Also, the first 3 seasons go back to earlier in Bosch’s career, while the last couple of season are actually based in part on the most recent novels published up to that time. The novels also occur in something akin to real time, while the TV series covers about 7 years of his life, so characters long gone from the novels are still regulars on the TV show.

I just started a thousand blows. It's about some Jamaicans who arrived in London in the olden days and have to box or something. Stephen Graham is in it so expect good things.

He's damn good in everything and I dont remember him choosing any crap roles. My favorite was him as Al Capone.
