As usual, we don't know who he's fighting. Wanderlei Silva could be a possibility but he has claimed he would rather have a couple of tune-up bouts before facing Fedor so that's probably not happening. If the fight in June takes place in Russia, Sergei Kharitonov makes a lot of sense, that fight would sell a lot of tickets in the motherland.

Another name that makes sense is Matt Mitrione. Mitrione comes off a loss to Travis Browne but he was the fan favourite after the bout due to the all the eye-pokes he received by Browne. WSOF champion Blagoi Ivanov was the first man to defeat Fedor in his crazy MMA/combat sambo win streak so if Rizin and WSOF could come into an agreement a fight against Ivanov would be greatly anticipated by Fedor, Rizin and WSOF fans.

fedor vs mitrione would be interesting
That's actually my least favourite fight out of the potential hw available for Fedor, the reason being I really like Mitrione. He's very intelligent and has not been a company guy for the mafia that runs the ufc. He was the only reason I watched Shillwani's mma hour today, and it paid off because his answers were very articulate and to the point.

Shillwani tried to steer the conversation to Connor's approach is good for the sport, and Mitrione had the balls to call bullshit on him each and every time.

That guy is giving dana a run for who can gargle conors balls longer. The i am impressed with him in defeat angle is ridiculous.

Man it really hurts me sharing Shillwani videos... but you're a cool dude so here it is:

I can't just post a Shillwani video, I'd feel gay for promoting such a person, so here comes a little song too:

LOL thanks homie. I also have a knee jerk reaction to that guy. Nothing i say will beat how we could see Nick having a hard time restraining himself from bitch slapping him repeatedly though. It's all in the licking of the lips and the little lean in. :D

I know I'm going to get hate for this but Fedor doesn't interest me at all. His approach to fights is to tease a big bout only to pick someone who everybody knows has no chance.

I have no idea how people keep falling for this.

I'd like to see Sergei Kharitonov first out of those choices, and honestly, it seems the most likely.
This is a fight I think most hardcore fans both liked and disliked concurrently, as most don't want to see either lose, especially Fedor considering he's the undisputed anti-Zuffa king.
Always been a dangerous fight for Fedor, as Sergei is a big, strong, tough, gritty well-rounded thug, ahead of his time early on.
And that's earned him alot of respect with us og's, so I've got respect for this fight.
A lot of history here, a stock opponent, and a win/win on the international scene as well as the court of public opinion.

Mitrione is dangerous. A lot of the things Sergei is, but coming in with more to gain than lose.
This seems like an unwise fight for Fedor at this time.

Ivanov is a safe one and sellable.
In many circles Ivanov in considered to have started the ball rolling for Fedor's percieved mental approach in the successive high-profile losses relatively soon after.
I'm happy with this one and the revenge factor.

Wand is another story.
I have no doubt this would blow the roof off, but also have strong confidence Fedor would not come in to lose.
I do not want to see Wand get obliterated.
After a Monson'espue feeling out process, I fear Fedor lands big and ends it.
Will I watch?
Are you kidding me?

But I'm also worried about my own health, and my heart shouldn't be pumping that hard unless I'm exercising or spanking a 10.

No.

I'm talking about his entire career outside of a major organization. Basically since 2011.

Also, I didn't say 'keeps doing', I said 'people keep falling'.

I'd love to see any article that says he was planning or talked about fighting anyone more competive in his 2 fights in Russia or dream nye. He had lost 3 in a row and was essentially on a retirement tour.

I'd love to see an article that says he was on a 'retirement tour' whatever that is. Sounds like record padding.

Listen, Fedor can fight whoever he wants, but those of us who watched him beat some of the greats would at least prefer to see him challenge himself in his later career, not just collect Jaideep paychecks. Even someone like Mitrione is respectable.

You weren't watching very close if you didn't know it was a retirement tour. And if by people who watched him fight the best. Your conversing with someone who watched all his fights when they happened and traveled and attended 4 of them live. So take that bs somewhere else.

You mean I wasn't watching very closely if I don't agree with you? Check.

I only attended 1 of Fedor's live fights (because I am a fan of other fighters) but have attended dozens and dozens over the years from day 1. Don't try pulling rank on me in MMA, you don't have rank here.

Wand please.
this is the best fight out there but i feel like wand deserves a warm up fight before fighting fedor.after 2 years of sitting on the sidelines wand needs to fight someone good and not a jaideep singh type then face fedor.there are probably way more good fights out there for wand than there is for fedor at this point but they definitely need to fight

You insinuated I hadn't watched or knew what I was talking about because I disagreed with you nice try. I've attended over 200 events and 5 already this year so maybe your not the only expert here bud.

I guess if you're going to catch shit for your true thoughts, I might as well give you some company.

I feel exactly the same way. It's like he hasn't given a shit about competition since he lost those 3 in a row in Strikeforce. I had no issues with him going to Strikeforce, because they had a solid HW roster. However, once he got there, he wasn't the same fighter. He had no killer instinct like he used to. He looked like he didn't train much and didn't give a fuck if he lost, which he ended up doing. Then, when they folded he dicked the fans around twice by saying that he's in negotiations with the UFC because he wants to fight the best in the world. And twice, he went the opposite direction and fought either guys with no name value and skill sets to match, or Rizzo and Monson, who were highly touted a decade or so ago, but haven't been relative in a decade or more.

I just don't like the attitude. Claiming that his first Rizin opponent will be "someone important in MMA" and then fighting Jadeep Singh. I gave up on him long ago. I used to love him and his killer instinct in Pride and Affliction, but after then, he's seemed like he has no drive to compete with the best. What makes it worse is that he still gives lip service to wanting to fight the best. Being a fan of his has just been a big letdown over the last few years.

If he fights, he fights... If he doesn't, he doesn't.... I don't care anymore.

The fact that discussing Fedor is so polarizing is proof of his significance in mma.
