There's no rumors or anything, this is just some speculation on my part. Anderson Silva was supposed to fight on the Brazil card, a few days ago the ufc pulled him off the card stating that "there were no opponents available for him". As if this wasn't bullshit reason enough, Gsp all of a sudden makes an appearance at the diaz-connor fight.

So am I crazy to speculate a superfight between GSP and Silva headlining Ufc 200?

If Anderson agrees to fight at 170 - there's a chance. but GSP probably isn't interested in a catch weight
He might be now that he doesn't have the belt at 170. Plus, he's been away from cutting weight for a while. He looks like he's a good bit bigger than when he was actively training for fights. Maybe a fight at 175-180 and few million dollars would entice him now.... Maybe....

Now you're talking about Rizin moneys ;) jk good point. He's probably walking around that weight anyway and might not want to go through a cut

I couldn't manage to care any less for this fight if I tried.

GSP deserves better. Anderson just lost to Bisping for crying out loud. Shutup yes he did. A loss is a loss. If Anderson wasn't a shell of his former self, he would have smashed Bisping and not needed a Ref's call to give him the fight.

He's done. Move on.

Remember when GSP said if he went up to MW he'd need time to gain the weight properly? Well he's had the time.

Silva is 0-3-1 In his last few fights, His GOAT status has been replaced with GPEDUAT, He isnt main event status anymore sorry. Id rather see Phil Brooks vs GSP

At this point I think GSP runs through him. He's held up a lot better with age than silva has. Silva dropped off quick.

No, I really do not think so. But it's still a half-court shot, and you're not Steph Curry.

I actually would love to see that fight, main event or co-main. If Dana hasn't already been putting feelers out to GSP and Anderson, he wouldn't be doing his job. I have to think there have been talks simply because MMA injuries can plague a card in a hurry. They better have side deals or at least know the climate of what plan B and C are, otherwise you end up cancelling shows with your tail tucked between your legs.

It would seem that the ufc would avoid having conor on a card with anderson and GSP since all most likely have hefty ppv points to pay out. It's not like they can entice GSP to come back then cut his contract. Anderson would be the same I'd imagine since he insisted on that 11 (if I remember correctly) fight deal. And conor sure as fuck isn't taking a pay cut.

Add rhonda to the card and the same problem appears.

GSP had his chance years ago. This is one of those times where a fighter was in the Conor Position and said no. Wisely said, IMO.

No interest in seeing either one fight again, to be honest. We have enough memories of them in their primes, and now a few after their primes. Don't need any more memories. They've done enough, fought enough, and anything more is just making the story too long.

No interest in this fight. Its not a super fight, it's just a middleweight against an inactive welterweight.

So many better ways to use these guys.

Speculating here once more but unlike Nate Diaz I'd be very surprised if ppv points and other bonuses in fighter's contracts didn't fluctuate according to their performance and the results of their most recent fights. There must be loads of algorithmic clauses in their contracts that increase or decrease the amount they get paid based on streaks.

Ok more hints that ufc is at least trying:

Dana White shittalking gsp how he never went up in weight to face Silva.

Dana on Conor McGregor's WW jump: 'GSP would never move up' to fight Anderson

GSP free fight released by ufc and it's none other than the one he lost to Matt Sera, almost like taunting him to make him come back.

Georges St-Pierre vs. Matt Serra full fight video

It seems though that GSP prefers Diaz

Georges St-Pierre's coach calls for Nate Diaz bout at UFC 200

Seems to me like the ufc wants:

GSP vs Silva
Nate Diaz vs Lawler

for ufc 200 but Nate and Gsp want to fight each other.
