As far as the elitist view on the movie, I'm not going in looking for what they got wrong. I'm going in stoked that there's more live action versions of the comics I've read my whole life. I liked Man of Steel, even the neck-snapping conclusion. I know Supes never killed anyone in the comics, but it's cool to see a different version of the character played out... In live action scenes.
My dad was a huge fan of the Superman comics and the old movies starring George Reeves and Christopher Reeve. He passed away in 2001, but if he could've seen Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman, he would shit himself from excitement and awe. That's how I look at it. There's no need to point out what's wrong or not in continuity with the comics, because it's not a comic.
I'm very, very excited to see it this weekend.
