While we are now less than one month out from UFC 197, where Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will have their highly anticipated rematch for the UFC light heavyweight championship, it appears there is a chance the champ is injured.

A report emerged from TalkMMA on Twitter that DC was spotted at a wrestling tournament barely able to talk. While this could simply be due to soreness from a tough training session, the report pinpoints DC’s left leg as the source of pain.

Not a smart move to fight Jones with a semi injured left knee. Jones already has a penchant for side kicking the lead leg knee... It's really is only go-to move aside from eye poke. Jones is going to go hyper aggressive with that kick if he hears about this or senses it's remotely true.

If I had to do any prefight appearances and knew I might have slight injuries but was going to fight anyway, I'd roll around like Professor X just to not tip my hand.

DC should fake an injury so he can be Champ for a little longer. Do some more commercials, interviews and workshops for Champ money while he can.

The conspiracy theorist in me says that maybe this is a ploy, he did it because he knew it would leak to the media and Jon Jones, that he's trying to bait Jon into throwing the low kick to DC's "alleged" injured left leg, where DC has been drilling catching it and getting the takedown.

You never know. In the first fight he got beat convincingly and what worked against everyone else he fought did not work against Jones. He couldn't score the takedown and was largely beat in the stand up game. The pressure is on him to change his game up and come in with something new, and you have to think that his strategy is to spend more time in the clinch and ideally more time on top of Jones.
