I know we have a lot of guys on here that have served in some form or another and I'm looking for some advice. My nephew - who is 18 - has enlisted in the Marines. He reports to Parris Island in August.
He's anxious. Maybe a little scared - but he won't admit it. He appears to be comfortable with his decision - as am I. He's never been one for school, and although he's a good kid - he's been in trouble here and there. Nothing serious, but I think the discipline that he'll find in the military will do him some good.
What can I tell him to help him prepare for what's coming? We were talking about it last week and I told him to start running. A lot. And to get used to the idea of listening more and speaking less (he's a bit of a smart ass). But I'm flying blind here - I've never served. I don't want to steer him wrong.
What can I tell him? He's a skinny kid. He's not going to get strong in 4 months, but should he start lifting weights?
Help me out bros...... Thanks in advance.
