Because we have women that post here...some really good female members, and the thread had become offensive. We used to have a pretty large female contingent here, but many have left and those that are still around interact less often. I want Fee, Check It, girlandcoconut and others to be able to log on and feel as comfortable as everyone else here.
Deleting the thread wasn't about trying to hide anything.

I would lock a thread that quickly launches into how all men are dumb fucks. Or anybody else. Really, what's the benefit to TMMAC? It's against the community standards but beyond that it just sucks.
The more contentious the subject matter the more I would expect the community to take an academic approach to the topic. You want to discuss the modern drama with Islamic radicalization, femism, race,etc? Do it with some non emotional (man thats ironic given the thread ) objective measures.
These 'cunts', pertaining to any group, really just sets up an inflammatory start. There is nothing objective to that. It's just shit talking a group.

It's midnight and I did some strong hiking and sunny day drinking. Yeah I'm playing grandpa tonight.

We shape our future modding based on community wants and the standards. Anyone can see what was locked and give us feedback.
I've unlocked a thread in the past based on feedback, but more importantly out future modding is a culmination of experiences and member requests. We asked to create the community standards as a way to streamline some core tenents as we were getting so many different request and were new to having a forum. But we are always looking ways to balance it all fairly beyond just our own wants.
Still don't see a thread describing women as children brains in adult bodies beneficial or inline with the community created standards.

I think 1 person and the video was stating women are brainless, I don't think that was the majority of posters who read it. I think it's silly to lock something down to protect a class of people (the women on the board) who are very clearly strong women not in need of being white knighted for. Look at all the posts objectifying women, to me that seems much more damaging than that thread.
