Interesting weigh in for me. Does that mean he didn't cut weight? If so why didn't he stop at 170?
Strange

Nate only has a 10-lb natural weight advantage. He's in good shape but he's not capable of handling the "bigger man".......it's like me trying to compete with Brock, I can gain the weight but he's just naturally bigger than I am and will hold a natural weight advantage
10 lbs is a lot.......Nate only has a 10-lb natural weight advantage.
Its what did him in in the last fight. The size power and length of diaz wore him down.Weight difference makes me worry for Conor
The superior boxing, cardio, and grappling of Diaz won the fight for Diaz. He's simply better at MMA.Its what did him in in the last fight. The size power and length of diaz wore him down.
I think that would be his expected weigh-in, representing him walking just over 170 after camp & not eating dinner & breakfast to weigh in just under 170...Interesting weigh in for me. Does that mean he didn't cut weight? If so why didn't he stop at 170?
Strange
Nate saw it coming.Conor's been yapping about the size difference for two weeks. It's his built-in excuse. I didn't know the Irish were so.... Brazilian.
Its a little disingenuous to say Diaz's power and size being a bigger guy didn't help him. it takes nothing away from diaz's performance but weight classes exist for a reason. The superior boxing, cardio, and grappling of Diaz won the fight for Diaz. He's simply better at MMA.
There's that Irish/Brazilian thing again. Nate is a 155er, Conor a gigantic 145er who hasn't competed at that weight since the IV ban. They're the same size, brah. Its a little disingenuous to say Diaz's power and size being a bigger guy didn't help him. it takes nothing away from diaz's performance but weight classes exist for a reason.
Diaz is a LW, Conor was a FW and will be a LW after this WW fight...There's that Irish/Brazilian thing again. Nate is a 155er, Conor a gigantic 145er who hasn't competed at that weight since the IV ban. They're the same size, brah.
That's not true. The IV ban was in effect at 194.There's that Irish/Brazilian thing again. Nate is a 155er, Conor a gigantic 145er who hasn't competed at that weight since the IV ban. They're the same size, brah.
if you want to say\ Conor is a gigantic fw then you have to say diaz is a gigantic lw he moved up to 170 in the past because the weight cut was tough even when there was no iv ban. Definitely not same division. Listen i'm not taking anything away from diaz he is a hell of a skilled fighter but to act as if his size and power didn't give him significant advantages in that fight would be straight dishonest.Diaz is a LW, Conor was a FW and will be a LW after this WW fight...
same division
I agree they are the same division.if you want to say nate is a gigantic fw then you have to say diaz is a gigantic lw
I definitely disagree with thatI agree they are the same division.
In Mendes/Conor? I agree...to act as if his size and power didn't give him significant advantages in that fight would be straight dishonest.
I don't think he has the size/weight to be top of the heap at lw I agree. He's too small. His fight against diaz proved that in my opinion. I'm not trying to say conor is this tiny fw and diaz this gigantic ww. But the size difference is pretty significant. Conor is a big fw like most of the top 5 there and diaz is a big LW.In Mendes/Conor? I agree...
same applies to Siver/Mc, Brandao/Mc and Brimage/Mc...
guy was fighting midgets, the KO of an emotionally decapitated Aldo was a beautiful punch but Connie fans have been sold a bag of dicks if they think he is an elite fighter at any class other than FW
I agree - this is the reason Connie has no home after this fight unless he figures out the FW thing, he looks absolutely horrible making FW and has spent 6 months now hovering around 170, will be interesting to see if he ever tries at again, I cant see him in the top 5 at LW per skillset and size disadvantages. But the size difference is pretty significant. Conor is a big fw like most of the top 5 there and diaz is a big LW.
he's definitely one of those tweeners. He only chance for long term success at the top of a divison is 145. I do respect him jumping up and fighting though and will watch win or lose.I agree - this is the reason Connie has no home after this fight unless he figures out the FW thing, he looks absolutely horrible making FW and has spent 6 months now hovering around 170, will be interesting to see if he ever tries at again, I cant see him in the top 5 at LW per skillset and size disadvantages.
He is sort of facing the same issue Nick had for years when he was the best 162lb fighter in the world.
He fought at welterweight because he wanted to stay active and the UFC didn't have anything for him at 155, and he was rag dolled by bigger, stronger fighters like Rory Macdonald when he did move up. Nate is undersized for 170, and has never been a top contender in that division. 155 is where Nate went on a title run, and where he'll likely get another title shot if he beats Conor on Saturday.if you want to say\ Conor is a gigantic fw then you have to say diaz is a gigantic lw he moved up to 170 in the past because the weight cut was tough even when there was no iv ban.
