We still dont have a clear title contender at MW

Nothing has changed over the last 3 months. None of the top 4 guys have fought or have a fight booked. They all complained about not getting a title shot and they will be complaining once again because they have been inactive. More fighting less complaining.

I've heard talk of Weidman, Rockhold, Jacare and Romero all fighting each other in some combination at 205. Not sure if it was just chatter, or if it had been let slip to gauge interest.

No idea bc Weidman isn't a guy who makes excuses, but he did have this to say:

He's a guy I'm very capable of just completely running through. I was at maybe 10 to 20 percent of me and I was still kicking his ass for a while in there. I wasn't where I should have been at mentally and physically, I'll just put it at that.

Weidman: I was only '10-20%' in Rockhold fight

Good on Chris not to make excuses imo.

The problems isn't a lack of a clear contender, it's that ZUFFA chose $$$ over merit yet again. Don't get me wrong im going to watch Hendo vs Bisping but any of the top 4 guys are deserving of a title shot. Mike and Hendo both got an early Xmas present from Uncle Dana which is nice but it fucks the guys at the top. Now it'll be contenders knocking each other off while we wait and see who's name is drawn out of a hat. If it were up to me I'd like to have Luke and Chris rematch as they're both coming of a lose and give Souza his fight finally and go from there.

Yeah I hope he makes a comeback. It makes sense. His cardio looked so terrible in his last fight.

Maybe Hendo was the only one available since none of the top guys have even fought since Mike won the belt. Just my opinion but as soon as Bisping vs Hendo was announced the top guys should have been trying to get back in there ASAP and make a statement.

this makes the most sense IMO. Jacare should get a title shot by all means and if the other guys are too busy siting on the shelf then I bet Mousasi would step up in a heartbeat to fight a major name.

Romero is 7-0 in the UFC, has finished Kennedy, Machida and Brunson, defeated Jacare and was exonerated on his doping charge. The other possible contenders are either coming off brutal stoppage losses or lost to Romero.

But apparently there is no clear contender. Fucking hell.
