Aldo held the belt for 13 months and 14 months on two separate occasions. Conor has had it for 9 months so far. You don't know if he will drop back down. He might or might not. It's not like aldo did the UFC a lot of favors. Dude constantly pulled out and didn't fight. Conor has fought 9 times since he's been in the UFC and in that same time frame aldo has only fought 5 times.
And how long will the division be held up until Conor decides to defend? You do the mathe

Probably less than aldo lol jk. It's a shitty thing holding two divisions don't get me wrong, but I don't feel bad for aldo. He pulled out so damn much and ruined a lot of cards. The rest of the division is who I feel bad for.

lawl look at the 37 people that picked eddie

Conor goes back to 145 with 2 losses since he won the belt
lawl

Eddie Grinds him out and Conor gasses and Eddie takes it. Eddie is a vet and knows exactly how to beat Conor. Conor is a hands down fighter and Eddie has heat in his hands. Also Eddie has good takedowns and will capitalize on that. Conor could win if he does it quickly.
CMNH smh dude

Those numbers r irrelevant becuz eddie and nate are total different style. Cerrone was Eddie's first UFC fight and he clearly won that 1st round but gassed due to cerrone's check knee and side body kicks. (Plus considering first ufc fight jitters is excuse for eddie). Nate likes to stand and bang and that's Conor's game also. I feel like Eddie will win by pressure and wrestling.

Everyone still give Conor too much credit. He still haven't fought a legit UFC welterweight or UFC lightweight at lightweight. This is his first test moving up a weight.
Eddie threw 46 strikes total against McGregor in 8 mins, only landing 9. Eddie doesn't work at an extremely high pace, and even slower when he is outclassed.
I keep picking against Conor and I keep being wrong. But I'll still pick Eddie.
come on brah

Good presser but Conor doesn't like it when he's not taken seriously.

perhaps he should have taken him seriously, no?

I didn't pick Eddie in this poll or any other. Only selected him in the Monster tourney where I coin flipped it all and I'm pretty sure I beat you so.....

Who knows. Probably A while with his time off after UFC 205, but....

you should know by now not to doubt Conor, and if anyone in the UFC is going to be a champion of two weight classes and defend both, it'll be Conor mcgregor. In his UFC career, Conor has taken paths that no one thought existed. He does what he wants, when he wants to, and in the process is paving the way for other fighters to reach Levels that were once thought not to be possible.. for real who thought anyone could be champion at two weight classes? For silva, jon jones was above him. For jones, the HWTs would destroy him. For GSP, he was always too scared to challenge Anderson. Even if Conor arguably had an easier path, that doesn't take anything away from him beating TWO champions with ease, and finishing all his UFC fights except for holloway.

Two years from now you may very well be saying "wow Conor is legit. No one at FW or LW will take his belt"

I voted for Conor. It is insane how everyone thinks Eddie will win. The fight already happened.

u win some, u lose some. Good job on ur picks.
stop acting like u're some geniuses cuz u picked the right guy to win though. Coach Firas picked against Conor twice and lost too. There was a possibility that Eddie could have won.

Bro, unless you have your SN and avatar professing your love of Conor or claiming his GOAT status you're nothing but a salty hater who's knows shit about MMA. Go rewatch the women's TUF season that got you into the sport.

Oh my! Conor has been groomed, he was fast tracked to being a 2 weight champion, and he was the only fighter that the UFC allowed to pursue that accomplishment. Don't get me wrong, he's good and has plenty of talent but it's not like he's been taking on #1 contenders one after another.

Another thing to note is he didn't move up in weight to win the LW title. That's his natural weight, he cut down to FW to get that title. I'm certain he's shitting hot knives thinking about having to make that cut again, and I could be wrong but I highly doubts he ever does again.

He boasted about fighting midgets then he boasted about scraping up a victory over a guy 3 times his size. Lol!

I'll give him props when he defends a title, against top contenders, not guys with average wrestling/striking with a shorter reach.

Yes he is popular and has a huge fan base, good on him, he deserves it but let's not forget the Matt Hughes the Chuck Lidells, Forrest Griffins, Randy Coutures, Tito Ortiz's and St. Pierre's that were building an MMA fan base long before McGregor came into the picture. Without those pioneers Conor wouldn't be the draw he is now, now would he?

Conor might be the first real superstar. We thought we had superstars but that was before we saw the potential a UFC fighter could have.

Also bj penn got his shot . Anyway well see him defend a title in no time.

Like I said, let's not forget those that paved the way. BJ was too lazy to cut weight.

But yes, Conor is definitely a superstar I just want to see him consistently fight the top contenders. Enough with these cash grab match ups.

Ya I was just saying he's not the only one to ever get a shot at a second belt.

Tony vs Conor, khabib vs Nate for #1 contender would be something to look forward to. But I think Conor should defend his FW belt first

Absolutely agree. Have a feeling Conors featherweight days are behind him though, wouldn't be surprised if he gave up that belt.

I like both the matchups, I would prefer Conor to just give up the FW belt tho.
