Vienna in the cooler months, somewhere between the southern Alberta/British Columbia border in the warmer months.

I'm fortunate enough that I pretty much could live anywhere, as I work remotely. I choose to live in the UK because of a family network and I have young kids.

If that wasn't a factor, I think I'd live somewhere cliché, like a hot, sunny beach with no tourists and blue water. So I probably will when the kids are older.

Sorry to be so boring.

Yep. I pretty much remain in society for my kids (oxymoron?). But I prefer a cabin on the river.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation but I'll be an empty nester in about 4 years. My job may limit where I can work, due to occasional business travel but I may pursue something that allows more flexibility.

Leigh, what do you do?

Safety Engineer, so I do analyses and write safety documents, which I can do anywhere. I do have to attend meetings every few weeks but that's not too bad and often negotiable.

San Diego, Santa Barbara, New York top three options.
Annoyingly the missus has only been offered Utah :(
Salt lake?

It's a pretty nice city apart from the homeless and the Christian weirdos.

Park city is nearby, the Olympic ski village

Unrealistically? New York, Edinburgh or Vienna for the winter/Madrid, Maldives or Sydney for the rest of the year.

Realistically? Probably Spain or Cyprus when I'm older. I love the Cypriot people, weather and food. And I love Spain's consistency weather-wise.

Agree with Spain and Cyprus. Possibly add in Portugal?

Orem bud.
Doesn't beat what the UK can offer a 4 year old unfortunately which is the main priority otherwise she could have virtually named her price for us to move there...
