Try and get your woman to kill a spider or change the oil and see how equal she wants to be
This is soooo spot on. Lol. I remember trying to tell my toddler how to kill a spider so I wouldn't have to. Broke a broom in the garage once over a spider about the size of a quarter. Lol

However, I sometimes trade yard work for laundry. I hate doing laundry.

Honestly, I din't believe I am either.
I'm just not that way.
But I do believe in roles(for the most part).
I'd rather have Cristiano Justino defend my honor than Justino Beiber.
And I pick my battles, with the wisdom of Solomon ;)
Tbh, where the gender roles are blurring distresses me. Maybe because I have two boys and I'm noticing things more. The girls are becoming more and more dominant, while my boys are taught by society that they shouldn't try to be dominant over women. It's hard to teach them how "men" are supposed to conduct themselves today.

Dude, you started off by saying I was attempting to apply 3000 year old anecdotes to modern society.
It's right up there^^^for everyone to see.
Has this not been satisfactorily proved wrong by simple review?

Then you said "so you believe the entire bible to be factual?"

Is that how you ask questions up there?

The only thing truthfully accurate is that had I given you the easy "yes" answer you wanted, you could've happily answered my question and went on your way.
So what would've happened had I answered no?
(RHETORICAL!!!!!!)

This is why I asked, again, to stay on topic.
I didn't want this thread to be pushed into the dump, or re-categorized into religion, but more importantly, engaged in meaningless banter centering around religion.

It's ok, I'm guilty of assuming too much.
I always assume @Alienator knows when I'm joking.
But sometimes those metal plates creep through his balls causing flashbacks ;)
Coincidently, I was talking about flashbacks with my warbound brother yesterday.

One weekend in Bangkok and they'll be sorted. Or ladyboys.

I understand where you're coming from. Societal values and norms are changing and we don't always agree with those changes. However, that isn't a reason to judge a gender.

Men and women are different at a biological level. There are the obvious physical differences and there are the behavioural difference trends. Denying this is ridiculous. However, I still think it works well to remove the gender lines in general. You get good and bad drivers in both genders. You get smart and dumb people in both genders. Some women are sexist. So are some men.

If a person applies for a job, you give it to the person you think is most suitable, without considering gender. If that job is carrying heavy stuff around, you'll give it to the stronger person, most likely a man, but they'll get the job because of their suitability, not their gender.

I think issues arise when dealing with people socially. I solve this by using my libertarian lens. I don't care what societal norms are, I will be equally pleasant to people of either gender and I will hold them equally accountable. If I see a woman struggling with her suitcase, I'll offer to help. I have also helped men carry stuff when they're overloaded. If someone treats me badly, I'll respond. Your gender doesn't give you the right to be a cunt.

When it comes to relationships, you can choose not to date whoever you want. If you decide you want a woman who is good at laundry, that's entirely up to you. If you want a woman who doesn't like to argue, again that's your choice. Who we give our time to is an area where you can be as prejudice as you like.

These guiding principles really help me deal with the societal changes and conflicts, not just for gender but also race, sexuality etc. In general, judge people individually based on the same criteria. When it comes to relationships, be as picky as you want.

What did you think I was referring to when I made that statement?
