respectfully disagree. i dont think they should be sued. their long-term health is on the line, so fighters should have the ability to "call out sick" more than most jobs imoIf I'm contracted to do a job and I show up unable to do it you better believe I'll get sued. A fighter knows the weight they have to be months ahead of time and it's part of their job to be that weight.
Missing weight is the most classless, insulting thing you can do. And in some cases (like ferguson) it costs the other fighter a lot of money. If there was a one miss no penalty rule that's fine but for repeat offenders why shouldn't there be consequences?
the downside of repeat offenders is that the promotion will drop them
i definitely agree that weight cutting is an issue tho (for fights, fans, and promoters alike)
