But seriously good singer and seems like a genuinely good guy.

One of my favorite songs of his is from an older album. He wrote it after doing work in a homeless shelter and seeing so many young women fall victim to crack cocaine addiction and prostitution. He wanted to be positive about it so he referred to these women as "in (on) the Class A Team".

For those Americans who only watch local news and have never owned a passport, "Class A" refers to the most serious classification of drugs, similar to the Schedule I classification in Murrica.

wow. amazing performance. same for the video. and together even better.

that girl was gorgeous at her worst ftr. but incredibly sad. i havent been back in the city in awhile. its not prevalent here, so i forget about situations like hers.

i now wonder if i like his other stuff. its not good background music imo, but i can dig it if im paying attention to the beauty of the song

thanks for sharing to u and everyone else, too

Lyrics from the song:

Cause we're just under the upper hand
And go mad for a couple grams

Double entendre with the first line (1. Not in a position of control and 2. Buying drugs discreetly)

The fucking ginger is one hell of a songwriter.

I like the simple but powerful nostalgia & melancholia of Castle on the Hill and the Hobbit-song is fine too for being a pop-song. The LotR-soundtrack in general was way better though.

On the other hand, what I've seen live from him was rather disappointing.

Hauler @Alco Hauler

That noise, where you hear the fingers (almost screeching) moving on the guitar....

Is it impossible to avoid on this song? How do musicians feel about that noise?
Do you like it?

It distracts me sometimes, I.e. Sometimes annoying. Lol

Haven't listened to it yet. I will check it out when I get home.

I'm assuming this must be an acoustic song with a guitar using wound strings. Generally speaking, you try to avoid it because it's annoying, but it can be hard to avoid depending on the chord progression. The sound comes from dragging your fingers along the strings.

I will check it out after work.

Just writes Beibers hits ...lol...

Had no clue till recently that Sheeran was the one who actually wrote Justin Beibers hit "Love yourself"

The Biebs made that song though.

All along the watchtower stopped being Bob Dylan's when Hendrix showed how it should be performed.

He's just dragging his fingers along the strings when he moves from chord to chord. With that quick of a progression travelling that far on the fretboard it would be pretty hard to avoid it completely, but he doesn't appear to be trying to avoid it at all. It's just technique. Some guys try to avoid it. Some guys don't care.

That's a cool song. I like that.

I can agree to that, Hendrix definitely took it to a whole new level....

The song Love Yourself written by Sheeran / performed by Beiber I feel is just one of those catchy simple slow songs that really anyone with a good voice will sound amazing singing that song.

Now lets flash back in time and listen to Jimmy being Jimmy!

anybody remember the Blue Meanie from ECW? Dylan said the same thing about All Along the Watchtower-- Hendrix took it to where it needed to go. Kinda like Bruce said about Blinded by the Light. What does the Blue Meanie have to do with this.. something about Splinty's fashion sense and lust for life I guess.

Sounds like a 12 year old boy singing.
I only know the song about how this girl looks beautiful and perfect tonight. It's a nice song on backstreet boys level for sure but I hadn't considered him to be Paul McCartney level masterpiece writer.

Ed Sheeran is good at what he does but I change the song if I hear him. Can't stand that sound.
