I don't like this fight because I like Whitaker, but not his chances.

I will approach this fight with the mindset that my boy Whitaker is getting a title shot, and root hard for him.
Essentially that's what's happening here if all was right with the world.

whitaker thinks he is light years ahead standing....I think that will be his downfall...Jacare has freaky power that has changed many fighters minds

Souza in the second by TKO or SUB

If Whittaker plays it smart on the feet I think he can get the KO. But we all know how dangerous Souza can be on the ground.

Should be a great fight!

Whittaker and his camp has already admitted that their only game plan is to avoid going to the ground. So when Jacare gets him there...he might panic and make a mistake right away.

Interesting fight for sure.

Jacare is o deserving, it would be a shame to see him lose.
Whittaker is the very definition of "earned his spot". (Still amazing that Wonderboy KOd him).

Going with Jacare, but Whittaker ain't no one to sleep on.

Also, Interim titles are stupid as fuck, but if Bisping's gonna logjam the division, I wouldn't mind a Romero vs. Jacare Interim belt, because it'd be more legitimate than the actual one.

Bisping KO'd the champ in one round. Deal with it.

If this plays out Jacare could let his hands go early on. I don't see the take down being defended though.

I haven't heard any quotes, but there is nothing wrong with, for once in this sport, someone making a statement that doesn't insult everyone's intelligence. Whitaker is fucked on the ground vs Jacare, he knows it, we know it, why pretend otherwise?

If he thinks he can learn enough joo jeetsu in this particular camp to suddenly transform his ground game enough to be comfortable on the ground with Jacare, then he would be foolish and wasting his time. They should be drilling some defensive ground work of course, but mentally he needs to be thinking 'I can't give up a single takedown' rather than 'no big deal if he gets me down'.

Joemacka @Joemacka called this shit

Second time he's called it for a huge underdog (first was Bisping in the 3rd Rockhold fight)

Wow!
I missed it.
Sad for Jacare, he shoulda been wearing the belt a couple years ago.
If his road to no title took this long, his next road to no title will take decades.
That window looks closed.
But happy for Whitaker!
Been a big fan since his first UFC fight.
