The CEO is also visiting, so he's out and about. He was at a store about 20 minutes south of me, on the same road.
I always loved and hated those visits. The added stress was never good but the relief when I would get my pat on the back and hear the execs when they're taking pics and talking about sending them out as examples for other stores to do was always cool.
That's always nice. Doesn't often happen here, but did happen at my old store. We have a lot of changes happening, things moving around, quite a large move, so we have a ton out of place.
That's a terrible feeling. One of my last stores was about 5 minutes from Dulles. 3 of the top execs had a random layover in route elsewhere and decided to swing by in the middle of one of the biggest moves of the year.
I almost pooped when they walked in. Luckily for me I had a crew come in early and knock 90% of it out so we were just putting the finishing touches on things... Pricing, etc. Pure luck too because I had planned on doing it during the day but another neighboring store needed some help so I was going to be helping them that afternoon and moved things up.
That really was luck!
Our are planograms moving to entirely other aisles, I think there are about 20 planos that get moved, in total, and we have three 16' sections that need to be torn down, but one has electrical running through it. We also don't have enough carpet tiles to cover the open spaces.
I bought some furniture today! I don't know how I'm going to get it up stairs.
